Good Stay

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 11 Mar 2024via mobile
First time at the Orleans. The room was large, clean and well furnished. Only one slight issue, the floor lamp was unplugged when I arrived. Plugged it to find out it was unplugged because the switch on the lamp did not work. Room 1911.
Ate at both the food court and the Chinese restaurant, both were good. Saw Jersey Boy’s and got discounted and upgraded seating for being a hotel guest! The musical was awesome

The employees were all friendly and helpful. I t was a very good stay.

I had a problem during this stay, Feb 18th 2024, when someone- with a key- entered my room unannounced while we were still in bed. This was NOT housekeeping. I filled in a complaint through security as this was clearly unacceptable and also spoke with the manager who made feeble excuses - “a late check in was possibly given the wrong key”
Poor security to say the least!
I asked for a written response and now three weeks later and two further emails from me, having had NO REPLY, I feel my only recourse is to make this known through social media and with a rather scathing review here.

If you value safety perhaps you need to go to another establishment. I am sure corporate Boyd would not be happy!

Have frequented other Boyd properties with no issues - just the Orleans!
Let’s see if this gets a formal apology and response this time!

I was booked for a 2 night stay at this hotel by the conference organizers and on reading the reviews here, I was concerned. My fears were warranted. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere (unless you want strip clubs and have a car). The smell of smoke was overwhelming in the casino (not unusual) but fortunately not on the higher floor where I settled for a double queen as my request for a King bed was not available.
My room was brown with brown accents and brown carpet and beige bathroom. No closet but a rod with hangers in the bathroom - gets the wrinkles out I guess! There was dust on the phone, a smaller TV, and the window was dirty. Not being able to either open the window or have an accessible balcony is a problem too...no fresh air and the smoke exposure when you use the elevators is not great.
The bathroom - as I prepared to take a shower in the morning, was a shocker. I pulled back the shower curtain and - surprise! Someone's hair and a chunk of false eyelashes greeted me on the surround of the tub. EEEWWWW.
I did not have time to get to my meeting to wait for housekeeping so I grabbed a big wad of toilet paper and wiped the offending objects and flushed them down the toilet. I also did not want housekeeping in my room so kept the 'do not disturb' sign on the door. Yes, I should have contacted management but honestly, I did not want to talk about it at all!
This is a lower-end 2 star hotel IMHO (at best) and I did tell the conference organizers to avoid this hotel in future.

We stayed here on 2/14/24 in room 2177 while attending the Jersey Boys show (great show) Overall, we thought it was a good place to stay. The front desk check in was great, helpful and friendly, the Valet guys were also great.
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The was a sitting space (couch, table, chair) near the window.
The furnishings were dated and the room was a little dark.
The room had a coffee machine but no microwave or fridge.
The internet was very good as was the water pressure. The bathroom sink had plenty of counterspace.
To access menus or services you need to scan a code off the TV.
The main issue we had with the room was that it was next to the elevator and we found the chiming from the elevator made it hard to fall asleep.
We'd suggest trying another room of the 21'st floor.

Room tip: try the 21'st floor but away from the elevator

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AT THE ORLEANS, NEVER STAY HERE!!
A couple weeks before our trip, I called The Orleans and asked the front desk if their property could accommodate oversized vehicles for the dates of our travel, as we would be in our RV. The front desk said yes, no problem they have a large parking lot for oversized parking. She even transferred me to talk to security, who also assured me that parking would be no problem. So I went ahead and booked 2 nights through Expedia. The day we were heading to The Orleans, friends we were traveling with asked me to book a room for them as well, since oversized parking was available for their RV and truck/trailers. So I went ahead and booked for them too.
We arrived around 7pm and there were signs on the oversized parking lot stating it was closed, no oversized parking allowed! So I talked to the front desk, explaining I had called an confirmed that oversized parking weeks before. The front desk said there was nothing they could do, and if we parked in the empty closed lot we would be towed! They did zero to help rectify or find a solution for the situation, and told us we would have to stay somewhere else.
I asked for a refund for the rooms I booked, and was told I had to go through Expedia, the hotel could not issue the refund. I contacted Expedia and hours and days later of talking to both Expedia and The Orleans. The Orleans is refusing to refund my room fees of $409.14. They said they would refund my 2nd night stay but have only refunded $58.34 of the $100.01 paid for the 2nd night stay.
We had to book and pay for other rooms at The Excalibur (who were AMAZING!! Highly recommend The Excalibur great service!)
I have now spent hours fighting to get refunded, The Orleans completely wrecked my trip to Vegas,
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Room tip: If you need oversized parking for your stay, book with The Excalibur, avoid the orleans horrible service.
