I was booked for a 2 night stay at this hotel by the conference organizers and on reading the reviews here, I was concerned. My fears were warranted. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere (unless you want strip clubs and have a car). The smell of smoke was overwhelming in the casino (not unusual) but fortunately not on the higher floor where I settled for a double queen as my request for a King bed was not available.
My room was brown with brown accents and brown carpet and beige bathroom. No closet but a rod with hangers in the bathroom - gets the wrinkles out I guess! There was dust on the phone, a smaller TV, and the window was dirty. Not being able to either open the window or have an accessible balcony is a problem too...no fresh air and the smoke exposure when you use the elevators is not great.
The bathroom - as I prepared to take a shower in the morning, was a shocker. I pulled back the shower curtain and - surprise! Someone's hair and a chunk of false eyelashes greeted me on the surround of the tub. EEEWWWW.
I did not have time to get to my meeting to wait for housekeeping so I grabbed a big wad of toilet paper and wiped the offending objects and flushed them down the toilet. I also did not want housekeeping in my room so kept the 'do not disturb' sign on the door. Yes, I should have contacted management but honestly, I did not want to talk about it at all!
This is a lower-end 2 star hotel IMHO (at best) and I did tell the conference organizers to avoid this hotel in future.
