HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AT THE ORLEANS!

1.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 7 Feb 2024
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AT THE ORLEANS, NEVER STAY HERE!!
A couple weeks before our trip, I called The Orleans and asked the front desk if their property could accommodate oversized vehicles for the dates of our travel, as we would be in our RV. The front desk said yes, no problem they have a large parking lot for oversized parking. She even transferred me to talk to security, who also assured me that parking would be no problem. So I went ahead and booked 2 nights through Expedia. The day we were heading to The Orleans, friends we were traveling with asked me to book a room for them as well, since oversized parking was available for their RV and truck/trailers. So I went ahead and booked for them too.
We arrived around 7pm and there were signs on the oversized parking lot stating it was closed, no oversized parking allowed! So I talked to the front desk, explaining I had called an confirmed that oversized parking weeks before. The front desk said there was nothing they could do, and if we parked in the empty closed lot we would be towed! They did zero to help rectify or find a solution for the situation, and told us we would have to stay somewhere else.
I asked for a refund for the rooms I booked, and was told I had to go through Expedia, the hotel could not issue the refund. I contacted Expedia and hours and days later of talking to both Expedia and The Orleans. The Orleans is refusing to refund my room fees of $409.14. They said they would refund my 2nd night stay but have only refunded $58.34 of the $100.01 paid for the 2nd night stay.
We had to book and pay for other rooms at The Excalibur (who were AMAZING!! Highly recommend The Excalibur great service!)
I have now spent hours fighting to get refunded, The Orleans completely wrecked my trip to Vegas,
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!
Date of stay: February 2024
Room Tip: If you need oversized parking for your stay, book with The Excalibur, avoid the orleans horrible...

Room sink backing up and filling with gross contents from in drain, horrible smell. Contacted desk twice and still no response after greater than one and a half hours. No room available to move us to and no response from maintenance as front desk said would occur.

Here for an event over the weekend & splurged to get a suite on the 21st floor.

The 21st floor looks much different than the rest is the hotel when you get off the elevator - we were excited that this would be super nice.

The room is very dated, the table is in horrific shape, scuffed and scratched up with jagged edges that cut up your clothes.

The beds are the real problem - they are unreal terrible. Truly for a suite I’ve never experienced anything like this. You can feel the coils in the bed, it is VERY visibly old and flat.

We have friends staying on the 10th floor, the beds are fluffy and new / you’d expect the suite beds to be the same quality or better. They are not.

The carpet has stains everywhere.

This suite is not “cheap”. Very disappointed. Would rather be in a basic queen at this point with soft beds.

Just back home to Ireland after great week in Orleans Hotel. Room was clean but badly needs to be refurbished and brought up to date. Lighting in room needs some work very dark and some lights don't work. All staff in hotel are excellent especially bar staff at Mardi Gras bar very helpful and friendly. Staff are the reason we keep going back
Reception staff unfortunately are worst we've ever come across, not helpful at all. They don't give you a nice welcome welcome or any information about anything. If you go to them to ask a question you are treated as an inconvenience. It's a shame as they are the first people you meet when you enter hotel. We dealt with four different staff at reception and left frustrated every time
We will go back but reception staff badly need to improve their attitude
Thank you to all other staff for a brilliant week
Resort fee a joke

The hotel has always been ok, but sometimes too pricey for the type of room you get. My main complaint is cocktail service in poker room. It’s always been an issue with slow service , but completely unacceptable during a holiday weekend. On Saturday night 12/30/23 specifically, I ordered a blue Hawaiian and waitres brought me the wrong drink and advised she would return with the correct one. I waited about 20 min and I saw her at the bar just chitchatting with the bartender for the longest time. She saw me looking at her from the poker room and finally decided to drop off my drink. Goodness, did she have to go Hawaii to get my drink?! Poor service for sure.

Las Vegas
Dissapointment with Las Vegas
930750402
Las Vegas was a real disappointment this year having missed coming to Las Vegas for the past three years. Covid has changed many of the wonderful aspects of a trip to Las Vegas. I stayed at the Orleans Resort & Casino which I have stayed in for many years in the past. What changed? The buffets were gone which had always provided good food at a reasonable price. Now, there are a very few takeaway spots with very expensive prices for anything. The one full service restaurant was TGI Fridays with reasonable prices and reasonable service. Getting your room cleaned required requesting this basic service every day .... or it was not going to be cleaned. Finally, the most ridiculous fee is the resort fee of $30.00 or more per day for basically nothing. The pool is obviously closed in the winter. The only spectacular experience was away from the Orleans at The Sphere were you get to see a movie in
