Fabulous Flamingo Jotel

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 5 Aug 2024
Had a fabulous weekend getaway to Las Vegas and stayed at the iconic Flamingo Hotel. Great hotel and great staff. Had an amazing dinner at Bugsy’s and Meyers restaurant. Will definitely go back again!

The resort was ok and rooms spacious- but dirty!! The bathroom had previous guest soaps etc and lotion from the canisters had dripped and dried on the floor! No one came to clean it!! Unless you want to pay extra for housekeeping! Let’s not talk about check in!! Horrible!

Room tip: Find a place nearby that will still accommodate their guests!

Bed bugs. Understand it is difficult for hotels to mitigate 100%. Concern was in the lack of reaction, urgency, or care offered by the hotel staff. The rooms were average at best due to age of the hotel and the need for an upgrade. Highly recommend not staying here.

Room tip: One word. Avoid!!!

One of the only hotels on the strip that charges for parking at all for any customer. They even charge the people staying at the hotel in addition to the $50 per person per night resort fee. We check in with nobody to help us figure out how to get the bags out of the car and park the car. They just expect you to be dropped off at the casino and that's the only line there is. Unless you want to pay $42 a night to park for the valet. So we had to drag all of our stuff up with one of us standing on the curb while the other one parked the car and then check in at a kiosk. There wasn't even a human for that part which I've gotten that much less expensive hotels. So once we drag all of our stuff from the hot parking lot into our room with no human interaction, they have An AI guest service by text. I asked for more than two towels for the two adults, one of which is a woman with hair and typically I think most women use two towels. The assumption would be we need at least three for two grown adults but they have a limit of two towels per room. So they can't even give me a towel but they can charge me $50 a day for the privilege of staying here? And they have a pool so I guess we just don't have a pool towel. Only bathing towels and only one per person like we're in some kind of orphanage. I've never been told there's a two towel limit per room at any place I've stayed and I've stayed in some pretty yucky ones. I really can't do anything to recommend it. It seemed pretty clean but we found a previous guest hair tie on the floor so I don't know really how clean it actually was. The room was well-decorated and the air conditioning worked. Other than that I would never stay here again. It seems like almost every hotel on the strip has a better deal.

Room tip: Don't stay here. Look at the check-in experience and parking costs. Make sure you don't pay a resort fee for limits on basic necessities like towels.

i loved staying at the flamingo for a bachelorette party and the pool party there was a highlight of our trip. in fact, we even cancelled some of our plans in vegas just so we could go back to the pool party here. its free and so fun. it does get busy but of course it would. our room was clean and spacious and modern. if you're looking for somewhere for great service then i wouldnt necessarily not suggest here but i also wouldn't say their service was personal or anything special. one time i got locked out of the room and needed a key card and the front desk girl looked at me like i was crazy. you're pretty close to everything staying at this hotel also. if i go back to vegas, id look to book here first!

I planned a 60 th birthday girls trip for me and 3 friends from July 14 to 18th in Las Vegas. We stayed at the tenement, better known as the Flamingo. Usually the front desk staff sets the initial tone of your trip, typically helpful and pleasant. I was yelled at and pointed to saying, “and I am not talking to you anymore!” I was just asking about the 50$/day fee if you trash your room upon check out. I completely understand this, I was asking because it was mentioned NOWHERE on our paperwork! Of course this was on top of the cost of the room and almost $50/day for resort fees (for what, I might add) we were told to wait in a line if we wanted to access our rooms early, with, of course, an additional$20 fee! After a 30 minute wait in line, we were told the rooms were not ready😡 we finally got to our rooms by using the kiosks ( there is NO efficient signage showing you where/ how to check in.) 3 of us were together, and the other over a block away! My friend who had this room was distraught ! Understandably so, being a 60 year old women away from the safety of the group. Several requests were made to have us in close proximity: texts, emails and several phone calls. These requests began months ago up until the day of he trip. No response to my emails! The Flamingo has been there for how many years and you can’t even get that right! When trying to get my friends room closer they told her there were absolutely NO rooms available on that floor. Another friend, once again, spoke to the front desk. A room miraculously opened up next to our rooms🤨 next, bring your cleaning supplies - these rooms are filthy. ALL our rooms were equally gross! I have pictures! The furnishings are scratched, dented, soiled, ruined! The first morning of our 5 day trip water was literally streaming from the ceiling outside of my room! Pieces of ceiling tile were all over the carpet and remained there for our duration! Next, there were towels and large blowers lining the hallway between our rooms! No explanation was ever given to me about this situation. Surprisingly enough, I woke up the next day with constant throwing up, fever, chills etc. I could hardly get out of bed. The next day, since I couldn’t eat the day before, I tried calling room service - 5 times! 2 of those time I got the chapel!!!! I never did get through! Thanks, yet again, Flamingo, reminding me how awful this place is. Besides the rudeness of the staff and the general dirty hotel conditions, there were no places to sit in the lobby or throughout the resort ( unless you are in a restaurant or casino.) one member of our group has limited mobility and we had to sit in Starbucks . No benches, chairs etc. - probably not very ADA compliant! Staying at the Flamingo ruined my trip I had been looking forward to AND saving for. I have never been on a vacation where I couldn’t wait to go home!
