Overpriced Motel 8 Experience

1.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 20 Jul 2024via mobile
Unfortunately, my expectations for this hotel stay were completely different than what I encountered during my time at LINQ. Not only were there no amenities offered, but there was not even bare minimum customer service available.

My biggest issue was during the third day of my stay when I asked the front desk for a first aid kit, which could not be a more simple or standard request. I was directed by hotel staff to ask security instead, and I was straight up refused antiseptic wipes /first aid. After wandering around the hotel for almost 45 minutes asking various staff, my only option was to walk a few blocks to CVS.

This lack of service on the hotel’s part really showed the true character of the establishment, embodying a most dehumanizing and honestly dangerous nature of Las Vegas. Never in my life have I felt more ignored or minimized.

These lack of basic guest services puts health & wellness far below where I am comfortable staying in the future, and would discourage other guests from staying here due to the risks that this posses, especially for the with disabilities/medical needs

1. The room was not clean, strands of hair was found on floor of the shower. Stained shower curtain.
2. We were charged $14.99 per night for internet and we barely used it because we were not in the room all three days.
3. We were charged $19.99 for movie rental. We did not rent any movies nor did we watch any movies. Only watched local channel.
4. Did not receive any Ceasar reward points for staying at the Linq.
5. Their water vending machine charged my credit card twice but I never received any water. Reported the broken machine to asst manager Johnny on 7/10 and nothing was done except for a broken promise.
6. Asst manager Johnny told me on 7/10 after complaining to him about the machine that the hotel gives the guest a $50 daily incidental fee and that if I didn't use the it, the balance would be applied to my card. As you can see not incidental fee was credited to my account. Since I didn't believe him I did not go to restaurant charging water as he to told me to. He said it would not be charged to me but to the hotel. This was a Lie and water at the hotel restaurants were over $6 per bottle. The vending machine water was suppose to be $3 per bottle.
By the way, the temperature from 7/9 to 7/12 average about 114 daily so we paid almost as much for water as we did for food. The hotel did not offer ANY WATER.
7. The room DID NOT HAVE A coffee maker, Refrigerator, or microwave.
8. The iron left a dark spot on my NEW dress. The iron heat was not regulated properly.

Room tip: I don't recommend this hotel

Brilliant location, great hotel, exactly what you need it for. The location of the hotel is the highlight of the hotel, but the rooms were clean & tidy. The staff at check in were pleasant along with some of the cleaners as you walked along the corridor, they always said hello which was nice. The hotel room is probably the smallest of the ones we have stayed in (staying in bellagio, paris, excalibur, mgm grand) but if your not paying over the odds for the hotel its ideal. We were nearer the back of the hotel but that was better for us when using uber so it wasn't an issue not being closer to the front

I booked the linq hotel from the 22nd in june till july 11th
I came for the wsop for poker events
I recieve a room with some problems in the shower
I complain to the desk about water pressure and that they don't have hand shower
the warm water took a few minutes every morning to come
with low pressure that was hard to enjoy or take an appropiate shower

After 4 days of complaints they change my head shower that didn't help ,
they offer a room change but it had the same problem so I skipped it
I needto say that I didn't had the option to deal with it every day because my tournaments schedual and not to tilt and hurt my mental preperation

Then after a week in 1:30 at night the fire alarm woke me up on the 19th floor district 3
and didn't stop I crawl to the hall to see all the others guests there we wait there when the alarm kept sceaming at us it didn't stop for 40 minutes!!! finally I headed to the reception desk , people took thire kids terrifaid on stairs 19 floors

There I realise I have no room key couse I left it in the room when I escaped during the alarm
I had no time to waste because my schedual of my tournaments and wanted just to go back to sleep
asked there for a new room key and left the crowd there to keep complaining

After a few days I went to eat at the Hash Hash Go Go in the hotel
and another time a fire alarm during the breakfast for a long time

And a few days after the in 6:00 in the morning another fire alarm woke me up 20 minutes this time , took my key this time
to eliminate another sleep night tournament preperation

I talked with the desk that didn't offer any comp about the situation
and mention that someone smoke in the elevator on the first night alarm

I am very disapointed from my first experiance in Vegas was in that hotel that was my home for 19 days but not a good one

I want to say that I tryed to have fun and play the casino there on my free time and couldn't understand why the hotel guest treatment was such a bad one

I liked the Off the street resturant
and guy fierri resturant
but I came for good room to sleep between tournaments and when you are not pleasent from the shower and fire alarm keep waking you up for long times you can't realy say you had a good experiance

Assaf

The linens had BLOOD on it. I called the front desk, texted and finally walked down to the main lobby to get the sheets and change it myself after 2 hours of waiting. They claim there was no other room in the entire hotel to switch instead of having me waiting for hours exhausted after meetings all day. Pool out of service in 100 degree weather

Nice location. Centrally located on the strip. Staff was, eh. Not too friendly. Not accommodating. Parking was challenging. Valet and check in was weird. Not convenient. They messed up on our rooms. Over promised and under delivered. Our door lock battery was dead. Had to call maintenance. We had blood on our comforter. Gross. Pool was fun. Good music. Fun games. Great bar. Bartenders were nice guys. We did enjoy our stay. Overall it was fun. Had a good time.
