Great location, issues with the room

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 18 May 2021via mobile
The location is perfect! The hotel is nice and so is the casino. I didnt know the rooms didn't have a microwave or coffee maker which was a little disappointing. The other issue was we only had a partial roll of toilet and when we called for house keeping they never came. 2 hours later we called again and still never came. The power in the bathroom kept going out and tripping the GFI, a blackout shower was a big surprise! There was a balloon from the previous guests left in the room...

Awful the room had a distinct smell and found a used condom under the night stand as I was looking for an electric outlet! I will never stay here again and I don’t recommend anyone to. The room looked as if it had not been cleaned I understand it vegas but there’s no excuse for the poor cleanliness in this room!

The room was ok for what we paid. The hotel This hotel is pretty much in the middle of everything so it was pretty busy. Room service never came after requesting them. The elevators are the worst. The food in the hotel and around was very good.

We arrived at The Linq and were told we couldn’t check in until 3; if we checked in early it was a $15 charge. Came back at 3:30 to check in and were told we couldn’t check in until 4, otherwise we’d have to pay the fee. When we argued that we were told we could check in at 3 they questioned who told us (we didn’t know her name) and The Linq did waive the early check in fee.

We got into the room and there was a strange sewage type smell right as we entered. The safe also didn’t work. The final nail in the coffin was the phone - red lights blinking indicating we had a message but if we attempted to retrieve the message it stated there were no messages. Then the phone would go back to blinking. There’s no way we’d been sleeping with that light flashing all night.

To the Linq’s credit - we went down to express our concerns and immediately we were upgraded to a suite. That was really amazing on their part and completely unexpected.

The suite we were given was very nice on the surface. It had a small area with a TV and couch; and then the large area with bed and another TV. The remote for the TV on the bed side did not work. And again - we had a blinking red light on the phone indicating a message but when we picked it up, there were no messages.

We called down to the front desk to complain. They were able to clear the red light on the phone and immediately sent up a new remote. However, the “channel up” button didn’t work on this one. “Channel down” did so that was good enough to get by.

The bed was extremely comfy. I did notice the soap dispenser in the bathroom was leaking a little and pooling on to the floor. I also went to open a drawer and the handle was broken. Also, the AC unit was really loud! It would switch on every few minutes and run a few minutes and then shut off. Woke me up several times during the night when it switched on randomly.

It looked very nice on the surface but if you look a little harder there were just some little things that bummed me out.

Also - I see lots of complaints about the elevators but we never had trouble with waiting for elevators. I love the location of The Linq but I think for my next trip to Vegas I’ll stay somewhere else.

I have been to Vegas many times and stayed in several different hotels. By no means am I a “hotel snob” but I could barely tolerate this place. I’m baffled at what the “resort fees” could possibly cover. I wanted to be honest in my review, so here is a direct list of the opportunities.

1. Elevators were filthy
2. Waited up to 15 minutes for an elevator down from the 8th floor. Used the stairs instead. I don’t really mind that but when I’m paying $35+ in resort fees, I’d like a working elevator.
3. staff at check-in were not helpful, before I could get my question out of my mouth the desk employee just blurted “use the kiosks!”
4. Pool leaves much to be desired
5. selected housekeeping service daily when I checked in, they never proactively came to clean over a 4 night stay. We called once and they came up. Again, $35+ in resort fees, for what?
6. Small casino, went to Harrah’s instead

The only thing I enjoyed was the Linq promenade. For a comparable price, stay at Harrah’s, they have a better pool, casino and a cleaner establishment.
