Not comfortable, pretty run down

1.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 11 Oct 2024
All 8 of the pillows were gigantic, none thin enough to actually lay my head on without hurting my neck. There is no coffee maker, no fridge, and no counter space in the bathroom. The pool closes at 5, so I never got to use it after a long days work. The giant light that shoots out of the top of the pyramid is decimating the bat population. And I arrived at 1am, only to stand in line for over an hour to check in and get my key.

No hot water my first day, no hand towels. Hot water got fixed, then hand towels that arrived had hair on them. Pool closes at 5pm, but sign said 6pm so arrived for a swim and unable to go to the pool. General smell to the place that was disconcerting.

Be careful of the auto check in. You will get a room on the first floor facing a wall and pipes. It will also smell of stale smoke. The pool attendants were rude and the pool area decor was in disarray. Clearly the price indicates a step down in the MGM expectations.

Biggest room ever (standard room), close to what I needed to attend (quick walk to Mandalay) and the food options were outstanding (Diablo was the best Mex I think I've ever had)! I was not a fan of Vegas at all but my experience may have changed my mind.

The Luxor is the place to be. I have felt not comfortable playing in this casino than in several others. Truthfully, I haven't been to every establishment on the strip, but the Luxor makes it easy to stay, play, and relax away! I love the rooms bring so clean and spacious. I love the restaurants and bars. I love the fun Titanic exhibit and the King Tut exhibit. I love the MGM rewards app and how easy it makes it to bypass the lines to check in, use the mobile room key, and find other MGM treasures in the Luxor and neighboring MGM hotels. I like that it's not overly crowded. I get face time with employees, don't feel crowded, and never have to wait to dine or play a game. The pool is awesome and I really appreciate the staff being so friendly and helpful. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!

Possibly the worst hotel under the MGM umbrella. It is dirty, the staff is rude, and you might as well be speaking to a brick wall if you need help. The rooms smell of stale cigarettes, the odds of mold being present is essentially 100%, and you will find hair that does not belong to you. You'll have to decide if mentioning any of this is worth it because you will wait forever to speak to someone, and when you do they will be inconsiderate.
