The place is in need of a complete makeover.
The rooms are dark and dingy. Food is way over priced. Avoid the buffet completely. Not worth it at all

Upon arrival, there was a check in line 3 rows deep. No app check in available. Man at desk was terribly rude. Dirty halls/walls/elevators

Elevators are always under repair, every bank has one or two down. Food court is weak on selection. Good ones, only 4. Diablos is EXCELLENT food!

This was my third time staying at Luxor, and it was probably my worst stay thus far.

Part of it was because I had a Pyramid room - the actual structure is architecturally fascinating, but makes for a terrible hotel. The windows suck, the elevators are slow, the hallways feel precarious, and MGM obviously hasn't updated much if at all since the rooms were built.

But my room in particular felt especially shoddy. There were visible stains on my pillows that I had to ignore and flip over (tossing a whole pillow aside because it was doubly stained!) to sleep comfortably. The dresser unit in the room I was in was built to house a mini fridge. Modern MGM is stingy enough that they removed them, which, OK - but could they have at least not left an extension plug dangling when the door is opened, and left the section not full of dust? It looks like someone stole the fridge outright several months ago, and I know no one did because there's a newer sign nagging about how the mini fridge is an extra charge, and how to get it back in. Petty.

Did I mention the elevators were slow? Because they are really, really slow. Part of it is again, the shape of the pyramid, but also part of it is I think the age of the actual elevators and lack of maintenance. Unlike the normal looking newer tower, there is no effective way to get to your room outside of taking the elevator - there are stairs but they are for emergencies only.

Beyond the rooms, there is a pool, a gym area, and your standard suite of overpriced Vegas restaurants and entertainment. The theming has been basically erased outside of what would cost MGM money to remove (the entrance hall, etc), so you forget that this is Egypt themed outside of some older posters, a teaser video with a panther, and the King Tut exhibit I assume they keep around to not entirely give up on the theme. Other than that, they have leaned into positioning Luxor as a middle class debauchery launchpad as much as possible - Public House (which serves not very good food but gives you a disgustingly large portion of fries with your order), Fantasy, and PLAY Playground are all evidence of this.

In conclusion, if you want a wild girls' or guys' trip, you are who they are targeting. If you are not, this is not the hotel for you. Stay elsewhere, because you will actually be bothered by how MGM seemingly doesn't care about keeping their rooms clean and appointed, or keeping the theme in existence, or doing anything other than serving as a pre- and post-game pad for the stadium.

Depressed and sad dealers make guests go sad - and that was a big impact on players who came to Luxor for entertainment

Rooms are nice but the TV’s can be upgraded and the elevator or inclinator can be more stable. The casinos are nice, slots pay out good and the waitresses will serve you drinks pretty quickly.
