Villa Titina in itself could be lovely. The pictures are accurate. However what the pictures fail to show is that the villa is next door to a huge building site. If you stay here, you will be woken up by the sound of a pneumatic drill and a team of perhaps 15 workmen on site all day. You will hear nothing but banging, drilling and the sound of them shouting at each other. They are literally 3 feet away from you! There are constant heavy goods vehicles making drop offs of materials. The building site is for a similar sized villa which is in the very early stages of being built. I would anticipate that the works will take at least 18 to 24 months to complete. There is another vacant plot which apparently is going to be built on the other side of Villa Titina. The work force also like to peer over the fence at you when you are by the pool.
The villa is very dangerous for small children due to open drops from height onto marble floors. There are also very dangerous electrical issues, multiple electric wires hanging randomly from walls and ceilings. The beautiful view is obscured by the huge metal shutters on the windows in the lounge which are broken and cannot be opened so you are sat in a dark gloomy sitting room. The Jacuzzi does not work. About 50 percent of the lights around the house and outside don’t even have light bulbs in them.
Our first trip into Theologos was very disheartening. There is a local supermarket which we went into to do a shop for the week. Well they can spot tourists a mile off and like to take full advantage. We bought a shopping trolly full of food and drink. Having read about tourists being scammed, I was keeping track as we went along and had priced our shop at about 105.00 Euros. The lovely checkout lady though, insisted that the shop came to 456.00 Euros….. after getting her to re scan and threatening to call the police, magically the till fixed itself and we were charged the correct amount. Eating out in Theologos is expensive. There is one price for locals and another for tourists. The food is bland and basic. We fed most of what we ordered each night to the stray cats and dogs who were the nicest part of our trip!
Do not book to stay in this Villa, and if you have booked, do everything you can to cancel. It is horrendous and has been the most stressful holiday we have ever been on.
Thanos, the owner, repeatedly denied knowing that there is any building work going on. He ignored our messages and after threats of legal action refunded a small part of our holiday costs. This has done nothing to compensate for the worst holiday experience that we have ever had.
Villa Titina is a super nice place. The interiors are both beautiful and functional. We were 7 adults and there was enough room for everyone to be comfortable both inside and outside. The beds were very comfortable and the air condition helped in the heat. The pool vas fantastic and since we had 44 C degrees we did spend a lot of time in and around the pool. The view is beautiful and the surroundings are very
quiet only the sound of cicadas.
We could not find the house but Thanos was very helpful with picking us up. Not sure that the coordinates are correct ,we ended up on a very scary road , be careful. The house is on a very steep hill and we did have some problems with the rental car to actually drive up.
We had a very relaxing vacation.
Beutifull house magnificent views
my family of 4 and a friend's family, we stayed ten days in villa Titina and must say it was probably the best holiday villa we have ever stayed. the facilities are second to none with swimming pool, BBQ area and views over the bay. The children enjoyed the swimming pool and play in the lawn garden on take advantage of the free wi fi and satelite TV. The owners are very nice and helpful and they speak perfect English.
Theologos the village is a picturesque fishing place with charming tavernas and coffee shops ideal for family vacation and or relaxation
I would re comment the place to anyone who is looking for a holiday with the difference
