Small, Quiet and Pet Friendly

Although I have stayed in the larger hotels in Helena many times, I decided to try something different on this trip, and was very pleasantly surprised. This motel is only 4 miles from Helena, and although it is right off on I-15, I did not hear any traffic noise. Room was clean, with a very long counter area by the sink, so I did not feel cramped at all. Well lit, so I could actually read in the room, unlike at some of the other more expensive chains that must be trying to save energy by having very low light in the room.
Best of all, there was a lot of open space and a side walk that my dog and I took full advantage of. Also there are two very good restaurants within walking distance, so getting a good dinner and full breakfast in the morning was an added benefit. Didn't have to worry about driving a long way and wonder if there will be a parking spot available.
I would definitely go back!

Room Tip: Request a room on the first floor if you don't want to deal with stairs. I don't think...

Save your money, this hotel is not clean, rooms are old with uncomfortable beds and the breakfast is a joke! There are two tiny little tables to sit with hardly anything for breakfast choices. The heat in the room didn’t work also, it would not go above 65 degrees. Drive the extra 5 miles and stay in Helena!

We weren't sure about staying here because we usually stay in chain hotels. What a great surprise!! The Inn is charming, clean and well kept. It had everything we needed in amenities. The price was reasonable and the staff was friendly. There is a store and gas station on the property. When we asked where we could get a good steak dinner the gentleman behind the counter recommended the Montana City Grill which is directly across the street; within waling distance. It had great food and very friendly people. They also have a small casino and we topped off the evening with a little gambling.

A freak spring storm descended on us as we drove south of Helena MT, upon pulling off the road we encountered Elkhorn. The staff was kind and welcoming. I found it likewise a refreshing alternative to high priced over fluffed boxish genetic hotels.

Someone is trying.. the front is covered in attractive field stone. The lobby had tables newspapers and24/7 coffee. A lovely little “ something to get you going” breakfast hit the spot.
We felt comfortable here and stayed an extra day to go back and explore Helena a little more. iT is with 15 minutes( over the pass ) to boulder hot springs so we stayed here and did a day soak there.

Everything that needed to be clean was. Beds seem new on par or better than most 140 dollar range chain hotels. Hotels rooms extend back into fields with Small MT views.
This made our sleep very quiet.
We stayed on first floor. The sound proofing was very exceptionally good. I slept soundly.
Only Draw back ( perhaps particular to the sudden shift in weather or our room) it was a little cold , remedied by a small blanket throw.
Drawback 2 I found a slight need of a detailed check of rooms.. I foubd a cup cover under our table.

All in al very nice!!
I was made to feel Very welcome

Very convient to Helena and Boulder without a high price tag.
And pets stays are welcome here too, we had no pets, but for those struggling to find a clean, quiet , beautiful hotel that do not treat pet owners second rate.. this is the place for you.

I love the safe, cute hamlet of Jefferson City.
It had a very nice walking path starting at the hotel, and an excellent local breakfast place with in walking distance. A local library is in walking distance, plus bars, and a very clean gas station.

I loved it!!!!!was surprised and delighted.

Room tip: We liked our room

We stayed at Elkhorn Mountain Inn for a family reunion near by, room was clean the staff was friendly but they shouldn't advertise as having a continental breakfast it was the worse. Cold cereal and bagels with overripe oranges.

We were assigned to a handicapped room, even though we are not handicapped. The room had a broken shade, a plugged faucet and shower head. The handicapped shower had a broken handicapped faucet handle. One day we received no maid service and the manager refused a discount when we requested one and was not apologetic.

Room tip: Little choice
