Love the Murray Hotel in Livingston. So much character and great downtown location.. Vickie, on the front desk, was helpful on the phone and in person when we arrived. The lobby and halls serve as a museum with artifacts and old photos. The elevator is unique and part of the fun staying there. Our two room suite was cozy and charming. Bed was comfortable, small basket of toiletries by the sink, plenty of towels in the bathroom...tub and toilet in its own room...one of the quirky things we enjoy. Stayed there previously and will again.

You’re going back in time when you book this authentic western hotel. Saloon and cafe attached. Elevator is manually operated. Rooms are large and well decorated. Really nothing negative to say. Price is high but it’s an adventure!! Staff was most welcoming. Sitting in the lobby I was convinced John Wayne was about to walk through the door!!! Lol!! Great location as well. Easy walk to lots of great eateries and watering holes. Enjoy!

Room tip: Parking is tough but you can stop at the front door and unload.

My wife is very fussy. This visit would be hit or miss because I knew up front this was no cookie cutter hotel. Well, it was a smash hit. Native American pictures were fabulous. Nice historical display case. Each room is individually decorated with antique furniture. I wondered how the mattress would be? Was it so old that Buffalo Bill slept on it? No, it was fantastic! Bathroom was a little quirky in that it was a step up and had two separate doors. Light switch was in the middle of the bathroom between the two doors. Again, quirky. The hotel is next to a train yard. The night stand by the bed had ear plugs. However, after a long day of flying and driving, no ear plugs were needed. My wife is a light sleeper, she didn’t move for 8 hours. We will be back!

Room tip: You just park on the street. Not a problem. We parked right in front of the hotel.

Neat hotel! Our room was clearly at one point two hotel rooms that had a wall knocked down between to make a big open space. The room was very comfortable and the decor made it feel like an apartment vs a boring hotel. Nice little kitchenette. We enjoyed our stay here. Was worried about parking but it wasn't a problem on the weekend. We were able to park right on the street without issue. Highlight was the antique elevator that we got to ride up in, though it was broken the next morning and we had to lug our bags down the old fashioned way. All in all an interesting, unique place to stay when you are wanting a more novel non holiday Inn vacation.

My five day stay was wonderful and relaxing. The hotel has maintained its former glory when it was built to service travellers on the railroad heading west, while at the same time providing some modern conveniences, such as wifi. The hotel is in the absolute centre of town and the attached family bar is the most popular in town. The casual restaurant is excellent. The staff is friendly and helpful. This is "get-away" at its best.
