Nice place

2.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 7 Aug 2020via mobile
Warning don’t get #. 33 ..this is a cute place inside and out but unfortunately they rent by the month to families..we had a u haul parked at our door ...at least two large noisy families next to us ..we had to keep the windows closed when they stared up their BBQ to keep the odor out ..we had to ask them to turn down the music and they have 7 kids on scooters, bikes and skateboards..wizzing all around and depositing them at our door step ..they talked loudly all night
We asked to be moved but they said they were full ..the owners are nice but they should not rent that unit out while so many people are next door ..they also need a sign to warn that children are all over the drive way ..we almost hit one ..
This spoiled the lovey unit we were in ...it was very clean and well stocked ...great bed and linens and WiFi

Dragonfly room was ok, but why would you position a bed where you can’t see the tv? Bathroom was tight. Heat was tricky, but workable. It was a clean room though. Close to downtown. Just don’t expect any frills.

These are cute LITTLE cabins. They are old and small but nicely maintained. They are clean, but no frills. The blinds are cheap ones and many slats are broken. No breakfast here. Queen size bed that is comfy and a nice big tv. But for one night for the price it worked for us.

The Lamplighter is located in a quiet place near downtown Helena. Lots of character. Then, to my surprise, Pringles Potato Chips were lined up under the nightstand as well as between the not-so-fresh bedding and sheets. Accordingly, not knowing what I was up against, i slept on the bed, fully clothed with extra thick sox. I was attending a state-wide meeting, and my friend slipped on the black ice in our parking spot, this sporting an impressive bump on her noggin. The Pringles not so tasty. Sorry Pete, will pass on the lamplighter in future.

Sorry for your poor experience at the Lamplighter. We purchased the Motel in May 2019, and have been improving it ever since. Hopefully someday you will give the motel another try and see if it a better experience. We have replaced all of the furniture, decor, and bedding and have cleaned the Pringles. Thank you for your constructive criticism, Dan

My husband and I and another couple did a motorcycle trip through this area - they provided a clean room at a decent price. It isn't extravagant, but we loved it. It's the little things when travelling - office had use of free books to read, they brought us old towels and a bucket so we could wipe the road grime off our bikes...
The couple running the hotel (Aug. 2018) were so welcoming and kind.
We were not expecting luxurious accommodations, but the friendly manner and clean room (one bedroom with a king and a separate area with a queen - with a large kitchen) was perfect for us.
Will be going back anytime we are in the area! Thanks again for a wonderful stay!

Room tip: away from major traffic/street - any room would be great!

Although this hotel is definitely old the person in the office (Kathleen?) was super helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. These are quirky little cabins but ours was quite spacious with a kitchen. Everything was clean and the location was great. We will stay again on our next visit.
