We stayed 3 nights and we liked it very much. Nick is a nice and helpful host, breakfast was excellent and the rooms unique. It is in walking distance to downtown Helena and a real good place for tours to the gates of the mountains or hiking trails like the Trout Canyon. We would always come back!
Got a call July 27 " er...umm just kinda checking that we were staying with them" and something about integration of their reservations calendars. I advised I would check the specifics if our visit (reserved 5 MONTHS earlier, did so,and, as agreed, Presuming all was good since what they had jibes at my end, I did not call back as there was issue. Seven days later we were called to advise there was a "mess up" and that they could not accommodate us at all. They gave a phone reference to another B&B which was supposed to have a room available . We called that B&B but NO return call. Finally we just gave up and booked into a local motel. Dissapointed. They offered a free stay next time we are back which won'y be anytime in the forseeable or distant future.
Oh my, what a wonderful find! Found this gem on Trip Advisor and decided to stay here as we were running in the Governor's Cup Half Marathon and 5k.
Easy to find and a easy walk to the heart of Helena.
Breakfast starts at 0730 and made to what the guest needs are.
We were in Room #3 and we had our own bathroom right around the corner. Bathrobes are provided.
Rooms are cleaned every day and bed super comfortable, bathroom had soft,fluffy towels and just the right size for 1 person, might be a little tight if 2 people are in it.
The house is a heritage home and right across from the church.
All in all, excellent place to stay if visiting Helena!
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Barrister twice in 2017, once on our way to Washington and once for Carroll’s homecoming! I absolutely loved staying here, the afternoon cocktails were so enjoyable and breakfast was always perfect. We stayed through Sunday and we were the only ones there and got to take a peek at all the rooms. We sat outside on the balcony every evening and it was always so peaceful. We are going through again in June and I booked the room last November. We got a Christmas card in the mail with a lovely note that they were looking forward to having us again! What a thoughtful and amazing gesture! It is located so close to everything, of course living in Denver we love getting out of the hustle of a larger city and being so close to everything. You can easily walk downtown to bars and restaurants and drive to hiking areas in only minutes. Take a moment to enjoy Helena, but also take a moment to enjoy the wonderful company of the owners and the staff and the beauty of this home. Looking forward to many more stays!
The Barrister is a unique property located adjacent to the very special St Helena Cathedral. Located in a 19th century mansion that has been converted into a five bedroom B&B. Nick, our host was gracious and informative being a Helena native. The afternoon hors d’oeuvres, wine, and conversation is a special treat. We look forward to returning.
