Staff was friendly, room was clean but near the stairways there was a very bad smell. Might have had to do with the drought and garbage that started to smell. Location is fine, next to highway and pool is good.

Review of Americas Best Value Inn & Suites Helena

My husband and I stayed here on our way to Canada. The people working there were all very polite but the hotel had some issues. The bed was huge which was nice, but our bed had visible stains on both the comforter and the sheets. That, as well as the constant activity outside made it hard for me to sleep. The hotel was undergoing some renovations in their lobby, but had promised us free breakfast. So we asked the front desk and they took us through a room that had piles of stuff from renovations to the breakfast room. I was surprised they didn't just open the breakfast door to the outside instead of taking us through the mess? There was an odd smell in the breakfast room, and the bread (with no toaster), cereal and milk were all questionable so my husband and I opted out. I am hoping that all these issues were just due to the renovations that were taking place.

The room was very well kept and the bed was very comfortable. The front desk was also very helpful for any task. The only bad experience I had was the fact that the hotel is located near the freeway which interrupted some sleep but overall it was a good experience.

An older property in much need of refurbishment. Pool was okay and bed was comfortable and room clean. It appears there are many full time residents at the property, and while some seemed sketchy, all was quiet. Located close to shops and restaurants and just off main highway. Okay for one night while on the road

I am really don't like to leave bad reviews and generally try not to unless it is absolutely necessary. That being said, it would be wrong to not shed light on how disgusting this place was:
The room was 'made up' but had clearly not been cleaned even remotely. The pubic hair pile in the bathroom and sink, pubic and head hairs in the beds, trash under the beds, etc.etc.etc. The room we were moved to was also dirty yet the owner claimed he personally checked every room before renting them out. There was food in the mini-fridge with a 7 month old receipt attached to it!!!! They then blamed the cleaning lady for being out of town... Huh???
I slept with a sweatshirt on top of the pillow and fully clothed including socks and a hoodie because of the disgusting nature of the place....BOTH ROOMS!!!!!!
Room tip: Stay elsewhere... trust me.

I want to start off by saying that the gentleman at the front counter was very nice, he was a pleasure to converse with.
But with that said, I would never stay at this place again. The room looks like it hadn’t been cleaned in a very long time, there was nasty stains on the bed sheets with hair on all of the pillows and sheets from the previous occupant. The room had a very hard to breathe odor that smelled like chemicals, and there were cherry pits under the sink in the bathroom from who knows when. I wouldn’t let any of us walk around the room without shoes on, the carpet was matted down with stains and grime, very disgusting. There were lots of animals running around, and just as many people that were up all hours of the night. Not good.
