Not perfect, but perfectly fine for the price

Review of Rodeway Inn
4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 31 Jul 2019
This Inn is quite economical for the region. The room was large and comfortable and everything worked. The maid had not put all the pillow cases on some of the pillows, and the tray below the freezer unit was filled with water which went everywhere. The bathrooom sink was not as clean as it could have been. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. The AC functions nicely. Breakfast was a bit of a misnomer as it consisted of dry cereal (just add milk) or bagels. Coffee and warm (not hot) water was available all day. There were not tables so you had to take "breakfast" back to your room.

We checked in and the bathroom smelled like urine! Asked for refund to stay somewhere else. GM refused because we paid over priceline and had to cancel 24 hours ahead of reservations. Moved us to different not as bad but still urine smell. No bed skirts, dirty, old, sketchy! Never again would I ever stay there! Stay across the street.

My sister And I spent two nights in Helena. We decided to stay at the Shilo based on price and the fact that it had a hot tub. Rooms are clean. The beds were very comfortable. Unfortunately the hot tub was down for servicing so I can’t say anything about it but the room with the pool and the hot tub looked fine. The free buffet breakfast in the morning leaves a lot to be desired. The hot water for my tea was not hot. And breakfast is laid out in a small corner of the entrance foyer so you have to take your food back to your room. But we felt very comfortable at that hotel. The staff were amazing. Especially Tracy. Even the guests that we ran into were super friendly. I would stay there again.

Stayed a night while traveling. A worn out motel. Carpet is worn and the rooms are ready for a remodel. Actually had “real” keys. The staff wasn’t anything special. The “free” breakfast was not great and there was no where to eat except the room.

It was an interesting stay. The folks are pleasant, but the place is old. Our room had the filthiest carpet, and my feet stuck to the floor standing in front of the fridge. It can be remedied by shampooing the carpet..... but the beds are very comfy, and the bedding is nice and clean. Bathroom is old, but I mentioned that already. Needs more plug ins. The swimming pool is nice. Actually has a deep end. The hot tub is not in use. Not working. Breakfast consists of packaged muffins, bagels, or bread to toast, coffee, and juice. They also had styrofoam containers of various brands of cereal. Nothing to write home about, but you can have a bagel and coffee and do alright. If you want a bigger breakfast, go to a restaurant. All in all, it is an average motel. If they shampooed the carpet, it would be a better room. Oh yes, one other thing- the towels are nice and thick which was a plus.

The Shilo was very nice. For some reason there was a hotel room shortage in downtown, and we got their last room. The room was big - I called it the Presidential Suite. All was clean and in good order.
Good little hotel.
