Decent Enough

Just needed a place for the night on a road trip. Room was fine, breakfast was poor. Good location. Near the freeway and walking distance to restaurants.

The location is easy to get to and located by amenities. Not the best view, out the front is a major noisy road and another hotel and the back is an electricity facility. The breakfast is nice compared to lots of other hotels we have been to. Good variety, waffles, cereal, bread/bagels, eggs and sausage with biscuits and gravy and more options. The room was a good size, pretty clean (floors and fridge were dirty) bathroom was clean, bed was tidy. We brought our son and booked a 1 queen bed room so we brought a cot for him because there are no couches and asked for an extra blanket for him and they didn’t have blankets anywhere, only flat sheets. My biggest complaints were the bed and it was so noisy everywhere. They placed us right by the elevator so we could hear that noise plus all the kids and people running up and down the hallways and we could hear everyone screaming in the pool just outside of our window late into the night and the beds are super hard. Didn’t get much restful sleep. We were grateful to have a place to lay our head at night but would not return.

Room tip: If you have another guest with you, bring blankets for them. If you leave at night be prepared to park down the street and have to walk.

Very reasonable pricing, one of the cleanest hotels that I have stayed in, if I come to this area again, I would stay here again. The breakfast was very good. the beds were very comfortable. Everything was super clean. Thank you Crew for doing such a great job.

Staff was very nice but hotel not worth the price. Outdated and smelly. It was torturous having to stay all these days while being uncomfortable. I was here on travel for work from 7/15-27/2024 and for the price, I really wanted my money back. That wasn't an option because the surrounding hotels were either not better or booked up. Some days they only had 1 cleaner for the entire hotel so you know what that was like. It was pet friendly so I feel like you really need to have someone to come and clean the rooms. Get rid of the carpets in all the rooms and not just a few. The front desk made my stay bearable so I am sadden to have to leave this review but i pray I never have to return.

This is an older place but the staff is nice and they the A/C in the rooms work most of the time (very helpful when it’s 100° outside), the beds are comfortable and clean.

This was the worst place I’ve ever stayed, and I have traveled a lot. From start to finish, this was the worst stay ever. We arrived several hours after check-in time, and our room was not ready. The front desk clerk had to call the housekeeper to have the room cleaned. We had to wait in the poorly ventilated, hot lobby for 45 minutes while this was happening. We’d been driving for hours and did not appreciate having to wait. We got to the room, and the air conditioning was not working. This was during a summer heat wave, so that meant the room was uncomfortably warm. The front desk clerk told us no other room was available but that a technician would be up soon. Another 40 minutes later, he finally showed up and got the air conditioner working. From check-in until then, we had a 1 1/2 hour wait before we had a working room. We finally were able to relax and shower. The next morning, we were packing and at 11:10 am, we received a knock on the door stating that we were late for check-out. I said that given we were not able to use our room for an 1 1/2 after check-in, perhaps they could give us a few moments grace. We were out of the room by 11:15 am, and as I dropped off the keys at the front desk, the woman there, Janet Thomas, raised her voice and accused me of giving her attitude. I said that given the difficulties we had encountered the night before — and the fact that we did not have use of our room for 1 1/2 hours after check-in — it seemed they could have given us a few moments’ grace during check-out.

The rooms were dingy and poorly maintained. Not something I expected of a La Quinta Inn. In most of the west, they have properties that are of higher quality. The included breakfast was of poor quality in an unpleasant dining area.

Between the lack of professionalism of staff, poor maintenance, the dingy rooms and common areas, I would stay far away from this hotel. AVOID!!! I booked online based on my previous experience with La Quinta hotels, and there were not a lot of choices in Helena, Montana. Stay at the Hampton Inn instead.
