Went to go inside to rent a room for 2 nights after speaking with a lady on the phone to verify vacancy and pet friendly policy. Needless to say a very large, seemingly aggressive german Shepard was running around right outside the front door. Barking and chasing anything that moved. The owner right there with it smoking out his front door which was right next to the front door of the establishment? Not usually afraid of dogs. This was bizarre. Not interested in taking my small bulldog to an emergency vet in strange town because aggressive dogs are not required to be kept on a leash at a hotel? WTF? So I can’t review the probable snot globs and fecal smears it looked like this place certainly had inside.

We stayed for three nights and was very disappointed. We expected much better from a name like Howard Johnson. They advertised free breakfast but breakfast room was closed and they only offered coffee and granola bar at the front desk. Rooms were very run and badly in need of upgrading. The bathroom door was coming loose from the hinges and wouldn't close. The bed was very uncomfortable and sagging toward the middle. In general the place was very dark and dingy and smelled old. Would not recommend to stay there.

It didn't look like the sheets were changed (there was hair in them). There was also garbage on the floor and the bathroom tile was dirty. The wifi worked but was kind of spotty. Won't be staying here again.
