Review of 7 Point Ranch
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 29 Sept 2016
Great rooms and amenities. All the cooking facilities you need for 1 night or a week. "Hostess" (Tina) couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful AND cooked a beautiful breakfast each morning! The location is just a short drive to the north entrance of Yellowstone NP and many other nearby recreational areas. There is wild life in the immediate vicinity and a lovely flat area on the river just yards from our room with picnic tables etc.
Date of stay: September 2016
Room Tip: We had the "Fireplace" room, spacious and our door opened out to the river, also we...

My family ( mom, dad and two teenage girls) stayed here for 5 nights for our Yellowstone trip. It was the best place we stayed and Tina was a wonderful hostess. We enjoyed the quiet setting on the river, although we found lots to do in the area and in the park. The low key pace and atmosphere was perfect after horseback riding or a day looking for Wolves ( found them ) and bears (didn't) in Yellowstone. Everyone was very friendly. There was always a good breakfast, and easy access to the kitchen for snacks. Our room had a lovely Yellowstone River view, sometimes including wildlife. We hope to be back to Seven Point in the future.

My fiancé and I stayed at the Ranch and we could not have had a better time! It was a tremendous value and we loved the location. The views and having the river in the "backyard" was fantastic!

Furthermore, the manager Tina really went the extra mile to make us feel at home. She not only made us breakfast but provided delicious baked goods! Tina even assisted my fiancé when she had a minor health issue. This meant a lot as we were treated like family.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this lodge. We stayed in the Yellowstone Room which is a two room suite. It was very spacious with a really comfortable queen bed. Many of the furnishings are hand made and truly show an artist's touch. Everyone we talked to were super responsive to our needs. Our rooms included an en-suite bath, table and bar. We had a full kitchen and lodge room available in the common area as well. Wi-fi is excellent. The Yellowstone River was just a short walk from our door. It was wonderful to come to the peace and beauty after spending the day at Yellowstone Park.

Thank you so much for the great review! I'm happy to know you enjoyed yourselves here at 7 Point, I very much enjoyed your company and our talks.
And I can't wait to show this to John B, who handcrafts our Montana wood furniture, we are so proud to have his work adorning so many of our rooms, he is such a talented artisan. Wait til the new door comes for our lodge entrance, it's going to be exceptional. I'll send you photos to try to entice you both to come back. Thank you again and Safe Travels! Tina

While scouting for the perfect North Yellowstone hotel property, to conduct my photography tours from I discovered the perfect place. My new home away from home in Northern Yellowstone where eclectic meets old country charm is the 7 Point Ranch. Access to the Yellowstone River is just a walk out the back door, and Yellowstone National Park is only 25 minutes up the road.

7 Point Ranch offers the comforts of home on the banks of the legendary fly-fishing destination, The Yellowstone River. The lodge is a repurposed trophy home, not as a bed and breakfast, but better. The well-appointed rooms have shared common living rooms and kitchens for the guests. You won’t experience that “trapped in a hotel” feeling because you have a living room and kitchen at the end of the hall stocked with some food items and coffee.

Lodge hosts Cheryl and Howard Jones are extremely helpful and full of Information. Cheryl’s hobby is keeping up with wildlife activity in Yellowstone and is a wealth of information about where to see the critters. She also can be hired to show them to you.

As a nature photographer, for reasons that are incomprehensible to me, my wife prefers to skip the 4:30 am landscape/wildlife photographer’s call to duty and prefers to sleep in until I return for her in the late AM. The 7 Point Ranch helps my marriage by, instead of putting a coffee pot in my room, putting a kitchen at the end of the hall. Attached to a living room/dinning room where I can catch the morning news over coffee while my wife snoozes undisturbed.

From the tastefully decorated rooms to afore mentioned well-equipped common areas. My favorite room has a fireplace in it with a cool fire screen with an elk/grizzly bear enhancing the cool mountain ambience.

After my wife’s leisurely slumber, in my absence she enjoyed the cool and funky town of Livingston Montana is just a short way up the road made famous in the Jimmy Buffet song “Livingston Saturday Night.” Day two she enjoyed horseback riding arranged by Cheryl.

My wife was disappointed that the soon to be completed Golden Ratio Spa, Salon and Wellness Center hadn’t yet opened for the summer season. The main room of the spa is shaped like the golden ratio diagram. Famous works of art such as the Mona Lisa, the Last Supper, and The Birth of Venus, among others, are all rumored to have been composed based on the Golden Ratio. This semi-round room would have been a construction nightmare I’m glad I had no part in building, but it looks really cool, which is why I factor the Golden Ratio into my photography. Maybe I can send my slow photography learners to the spa and have the Golden Ratio massaged into their scalp at the end of the day.

I look forward to my next Yellowstone photo tour, but even more so to the fishing trip where I can indulge myself at the 7 Point Ranch instead catering to the needs of others. As a former fly-fishing guide, I am anxious to return to experience fly-fishing from the fly-fishing from the 7 Point Ranch.

Room tip: The fireplace room is awesome.

Cheryl and Howard were the most welcoming and gracious hosts. Thanks to them, we had an unforgettable experience in Yellowstone. They took care of us like we were family. From the moment we stepped foot on their beautiful ranch, they left no stone unturned in their quest to make our stay nothing short of magical. They are avid photographers, and thanks to them we got some surreal shots of the wildlife. I can't wait to go back to 7 point ranch someday.
