Overall we enjoyed our stay with only one complaint, allbeit a significant one for us. We stayed in one of the poolside rooms, 2nd floor, overlooking the beautiful blue tinted pool. On our last night of three, we continued to sit at the table after 10 pm just outside our room, quietly reading. We were approached by one of the staff and politely asked to leave the pool area as it closed at 10pm. I replied that we considered the small table and 2 chairs part of our "balcony" as the other rooms had an outside private balcony that were not poolside rooms. He was reluctant to make us go back into our room and said he would allow us to stay as long as we were quiet and there were no complaints. We almost had the Hotel to ourselves as there were not many guests here at this time. Soon after, he returned and told us we needed to leave and return to our rooms, which we did. He said the Hotel had previously had outsiders in to swim in the pool after closing, so they felt it necessary to make everyone leave the inner pool area upon closing. All outside doors are kept locked and the doors into the indoor pool area they lock at 10. I think we should have been allowed to enjoy our "balcony" quietly after 10 and not treated as a non-guest by being ushered away.
That said, the hot breakfast served every morning as part of the room package is great, with fresh fruit, eggs, sausage and even bacon one morning. The staff is friendly. A Kerig coffee maching is provided 24/7 in the lobby with half n half. We are not planning on staying here the next time we visit Butte, and if we ever do, we will request an outside room with a balcony.
