Great place to stay and dine while in Bozeman

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 5 Jul 2021
Great location with downtown access. The hotel itself is a cool old art deco style building that was remodeled into a hotel. It is very well done with clean comfortable well appointed rooms. There is a bar and restaurant on the roof called Sky Shed that serves awesome Asian inspired light fare that allows great views of Bozeman from it's huge glass windows. Downstairs is a bar and restaurant called Fielding's that serves excellent American fare and drinks. They offer valet parking. All the staff I met there were very friendly and great about checking in to see if we ever needed anything. Next time I get back to Bozeman, I will definitely stay at the Kimpton Armory again.
Date of stay: July 2021
Room Tip: This hotel has a roof top pool.

The best and only place I will stay in Bozeman. My wife and I along with our dog Nilla just stayed for our 15th wedding anniversary and it was amazing. This is the second time we have stayed at the Armory and it will not be the last. We stayed in the Armory suite which is one of 3 rooms that are in the original armory building. If you were going for a concert I would highly recommend one of those room. We then stayed 4 nights in the presidential suite which is over 1,200 sq ft of wonderful. The Front Office Manager Kaitlin is simply the best as is the entire staff. Once you arrive you never have to leave. With Sky Shed on the roof, Fielding’s in the lobby, and TuneUp in the basement all your food and drink needs are met. The rooftop pool has amazing views of Bozeman. We would move in if we could. Now go book your stay and join IHG Rewards.

Room tip: Make sure you eat at all the restaurants in the hotel. Don’t forget to hang out at the rooftop pool. Go to TuneUp in the basement.

We visited Bozeman in June 2021 with a group of 16 and were absolutely blown away by the Armory. Large groups can be challenging...for the group and for the hotel...but our stay exceeded all expectations.

The property is amazing-- literally from the top to bottom. You can't beat sunsets on the rooftop or even for watching thunderstorms roll in across the valley...either way the restaurant and pool are great.

The basement whiskey bar (TuneUp) with live music is incredibly well-done and the bartenders are trul top-notch.

The rooms are very comfortable-- modern design with a little bit of Montana charm.

And I can't wait to come back when the large interior music hall is open for live music--it looks amazing.

Beyond the actual hotel property, I cannot express enough how amazing the entire staff was. From the moment we arrived they treated us like old friends. They got to know us, inquired about our preferences and took care of all our needs. Each day, we would catch-up on the day's activities and the staff would provide advice, introduce us to local experts or make calls on our behalf.

Some of the folks that stood out in our memory:
Front desk: Kaitlin, Beeka, Mason, Kesley, Gio, Lexie
F&B: Adam (visiting F&B manager), Keith, Jeanine, Sam, Caleb, Nora (We met her on her first hospitality shift ever! And she was great!).
Sales & Catering: Elle, Dana

Adam and Kaitlin were our tag-team superheroes, working across the hotel and F&B to help us optimize our visit. The thing that really got me was how much they truly listened, showed genuine care for what we were hoping to do, helped us brainstorm ideas, and followed-up on executing solutions.

I've never encountered such an amazing mix of authenticity and competence in an entire team. I am not exaggerating when I say they made us feel at home, amongst family, at the Armory.

Kaitlin was our one-stop-shop for any question/issue we might have, whether within the property or across Bozeman at large. She was an amazing partner for the whole stay.

Beeka took care of us and gave us the moment most said was the pinnacle of our trip...playing music with the hotel's loaner Gibson guitars.

Keith, Jeanine, Sam and Caleb at the TuneUp Bar were like our best friends and insiders on the local scene. They always pointed us to the best fun in town (which often started or ended at TuneUp).

Adam was on-loan from HQ, away from home, support the Armory F&B team. In spite of the heavy workload and daily firefighting, he was incredibly attentive to us and really helped maximize our stay. Regardless of the intensity of the dinner rush, Adam was always ready to take care of us, while taking care of his team.

Our entire group told me, without exaggeration, that it was the best trip they've been on. And it's mostly due to the amazing crew at The Armory.

Of course, we've already started planning when we can return!

Look for deals as this place is pricey but the staff is wonderful and it's just an awesome place. The infinity pool is beautiful with the view of the mountains. They do run specials so check it out! It's very conveniently located with great restaurants in every direction. They also don't care if you use their valet parking. We didn't use it, we're the do it yourself type but the doorman helped us in with our bags and treated us like royalty even though we're cheapskates!

My wife and I selected the Kimpton Armory hotel when we decided to visit, for the first time, the State of Montana. The per night cost was on the high side, pricewise, but we do not travel that much and we enjoy staying at first-class hotels. Coming out of the pandemic, we understand that all hotel's are struggling a bit to get their feet under them and the Kimpton is no exception. We felt that the price was a bit steep for what the hotel actually provided and we were prepared to express some disappointment when we checked out after our 5th night. We very nicely explained to Kaitlin, at the front desk, where we thought the hotel had dropped the ball. Mind you, this is a very nice Hotel - the finest of those we saw in Bozeman - and our complaints were not of a significant variety, but rather a handful of minor things that we did not expect for the price we paid. Our discussion with Kaitlin was refreshing. She really understood and could not be more accommodating, agreeing to provide us with some concessions that we did not ask for, nor did we expect. My wife and I would not hesitate to return to this hotel again should we find ourselves in the Bozeman area as I am confident our experience would be even better. Thank you Kaitlin.

Room tip: We had room on 8th floor. Very quiet. Ask for mountain facing view.

Perfect location and legendary staff.

Kaitlin, Mason, Beeka, Jeanine, Caleb, Nora, Adam, just to name a few. They went out of their way to ensure our group had the absolute best time by coordinating activities, accommodating requests at all hours, making sure we saw the best of Bozeman and the surrounding areas.

The hotel is well located, the common spaces foster a sense of community, and the food and beverage options across the three restaurants and bars are awesome. Sunsets on the roof deck are epic.

Rooms are well-appointed—although some of the ones on lower floors lack good views. But if you are spending a lot of time in your room pining for a better view, you are doing Bozeman wrong!
