We took a short family vacation to Big Sky in August. Our stay at the Summit property was wonderful due to the fantastic service. The gentlemen at the bell stand/valet were kind and genuine. We made it a game to see if we could beat our car to the front...which we never did. They were awesome. Nick was working in the pool/fitness area most days and he became a familiar face and friend—he was the best! You can’t beat the view from the Summit hot pool, by the way. The Resort’s public golf course was meticulously kept and perfect for our family. It was nice to have wonderful hiking trails right out the door. We were able to catch some of the Big Mountain Enduro bike racing as well. We’ve been there MANY times in the winter, but we’ll definitely make it a summer destination again.

Second visit to Big Sky from England. Last time we stayed in the very comfortable Shoshone. As 4 of us we booked a two bed through Resort Office. Having read the mixed reviews this seemed to be likely to get the best result. This worked as 1011 (I think) was fine. The block nearest to Village Centre so only a short walk to lifts, etc. Very convenient and we were quite happy with the standard of the condo.

I have stayed at a lot of places at Big Sky and they have all been great...except for the Stillwater Condo we stayed in last weekend. The carpet was grossly stained and so course it skinned my girlfriend's knees when she knelt on it. The mattress in the bedroom has seen way too many years and was so lumpy we decided to try the pullout in the living room. But it was even worse and felt like we were lying on the springs. And there was a security light outside the bedroom window that kept us up as well with no way to block it because the curtain was shabby and thin. Crappy place, especially for the price

Stillwater Condos are a great place to stay for skiing Big Sky. Just a half block or block walk to the Huntley Lodge, which is slopeside. You can book through Big Sky resort, and they have studios, 1 bedrooms, 1 bedroom + loft and 2 bedrooms. Each comes with full kitchen, living room, fireplace, sofa bed, and deck w/ BBQ.

We've stayed in 2-bedrooms, 2 bath condos both times, and both had different layouts. One had kind of a cool sunken bedroom/living room. This time we were in 1058 — same unit as last reviewers, but we seemed to like it a lot better. ($300/night for 2-bedroom condo is actually really good deal for Big Sky).

Downstairs is a bedroom (no TV), bath, kitchen, living room, and deck. Up the narrow spiral staircase upstairs was a master bed/bath. Decent decor--new-looking wood floors, kind of mountain lodge style furnishings. Old elliptical that didn’t work well crammed in corner - might want to lose that. But overall, very comfortable and pretty views of the mountain.

There's also free parking, wi-fi, and access to the Huntley Lodge outdoor pool (awesome), outdoor jacuzzis (great), and fitness center (very meager - needs updating). Note that you don't have access to the swim inside/outside pool that used to be part of Huntley, but is now considered the Shoshone's pool, and they charge an extra $20/day for access.

Only couple issues: cleanliness- some of pans were really dirty, ie still had eggs stuck to them, bowls were dirty, too. Pretty gross. We washed everything before using. Also, no extra garbage bags for kitchen. We called and they said they’d bring some down, but they never did. Also, called last morning for extended check-out from 11 am to noon, and woman said no problem, but then cleaning crew was there at 11 am sharp, and someone called me and wanted to know who I spoke with to get the extended check out; didn’t think I’d need to take a name. Not the best ending, but otherwise great stay, and definitely recommend.

2 Bedroom condo unit 1058 outdated. I evaluate lodging by a few specific criteria; this condo failed at every turn. There were a total of 3 full/Queen size beds in the bedroom but there was only a sofa and 1 easy chair in living room, so there actually was not enough seating after ski day was over for family to sit down and relax together. There were only 4 of us and unless there were 3 people on the sofa a person had to sit on hard dining table chairs. Instead of extra seating, there is a ski type of work out machine in the corner of condo. TV was antiquated by not being a flat screen, not having clear picture quality, and dimension of maybe 25". Main bedroom on first floor had no TV at all. Upstairs bedroom had small flat screen TV that no one could get to operate. Staircase to second floor is extremely narrow and getting ski luggage upstairs required extreme muscle and ingenuity. Condo was not clean. There were specs of dirt on floor, bathroom rug was dirty, kitchen utensils holder had stains all over it causing us to question other cleanliness. We called managing facility who offer to give us a VIP cleaning. 3 college age kids came over for about 15 minutes while we were there. 1 ran a vacuum over BR rug, one ran dishwasher for utensil organizer and other vacuum miscellaneous areas. We had expected a deep cleaning; not sure what VIP cleaning means for this company. They did comp us $100 for the cleanliness issue. We paid over $300 per night for condo. Never have we stayed in such as place for so much money. Big Sky Resort- I am extremely disappointed in these accommodations and the cost you charged. Big corporation at its worst.

Room tip: Do not choose this condo.
