Cafe Mochi is a restaurant located on South Grand that dishes out sushi but, with a Vietnamese twist. What I love about this place, is that they prepare sushi right in front of you; watching them gracefully squeeze eel sauce on each roll, makes you realize how much the chefs here really take pride in what they do.

Dining-in this restaurant you will find plenty of seating both inside and out. However, like most places, happy-hour is their busiest time which is Tuesday - Thursday 4:30pm to 6:30pm. The menu consists of half-priced sushi rolls, $1.00 of beers, and buy one mixed drink/sake and get another drink/sake free. Plan according if you plan on visiting during these hours because you will not be alone.

Why 5 Stars??? The Sushi here taste great!

My wife and I were very disappointed in the service. Our appetizers came out 30 minutes AFTER our entrees. I was very hungry, so I nibbled on my entree, but really wanted to have my sushi appetizer first. By the time my sushi came out, the sushi was warm, and my entree that had been at the table was cold. When I spoke to the manager, the manger was defensive and inept. Again, very disappointed. We will not be back.

We chose Cafe Mochi for a small birthday celebration with some couples, family and friends. When it is Happy Hour, this place is a very good choice with decent rolls and service. It typically gets crowded. We arrived early at 430 and had no problem getting a table.

We were there at an odd hour...like 3:00 on a Saturday. We had the amazing baked mussels which were only surpassed by the spring rolls (rice paper fresh) with a plum sauce. We cannot wait to go back and try the sushi side of the menu... or maybe more Vietnamese dishes! The downside? Interior space looked dark and dismal. Maybe the upstairs is better? And they only have wine by the glass.

My daughter loves sushi and so I decided to try it finally after years of being not interested. I have had it several times now in the past 6 weeks and this was really good. I am certainly no expert on Sushi but I really enjoyed the food. There were 5 of us and we ordered 5 different rolls and enjoyed all of them. The mussels as an appetizer were delicious and my daughter said her soup was the best she had ever had.
