Cool plave to visit local artists and artists from all over the country and their works, photospiva and small works are one of my favorite exhibits to go to and bid on artwork, they offer classes for kids and adults so theres something for everyone.

I've been involved with Spiva for as long as I can remember. This an awesome venue for local and national art. They offer classes in various genre on a regular basis. Everything from painting to glass work. Their attention to detail when displaying art work is beyond compare. The quality of work is truly outstanding and the viewer has three different galleries to choose from as well as a gift shop. Spiva Center for the Arts is a main attraction in Joplin!

Spiva Art Center is a joy to visit with family. We have grade school aged children and the center has a variety of displays that keep their attention. However, the center is not so large that we are irritable by the time we have finished reviewing all they have to offer. They do an excellent job of changing their scenery in a timely fashion and also offer programs for school aged children.

They have a variety of art shows that I've attended; the one that sticks out in my mind was a show that artists honored the 5/22/2011 EF5 Joplin, MO tornado > artists depicted their perspective of the tornado. I have a painting from that show, but it was quite unique how the artists viewed the show. So many shows happen at Spiva that enlighten people and delight the eye too.
