Salema Beach Village was a bit hard to find, thank goodness for GPS. But once found, we were told about the upper back road, so we can skip driving thru town.
Upon arriving to the office, Joao explained the place, and made a call to reserve a restaurant for tonight. Everyone in the office is friendly and attentive. They also provided us with 4 beach towels. Paalo, had us follow him to our parking area and helped carry luggage up the steps to our apartment.
The place is spacious and pristine clean. We are in a 2 story apartment, # 11. AC throughout, and thank goodness, it was 96˚ while we were here. It has 3 balconies and the view is spectacular. The 3rd balcony has a spiral staircase to the roof. Two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms are downstairs both with sliding glass doors to a secluded balcony, powder room on main floor, good size kitchen with washer/dryer and everything you would need, dining room, living room and of course, the balcony patio overlooking the beach. We felt very safe and the apartment was very quiet. The beds were drop dead comfortable, as well as the pillows and the weight of the comforter. Not the best lighting in the bathroom, in fact the shower in twin bedroom is dark. But, again everything is so clean, some things can be overlooked.
Bread is delivered everyday down in the plaza, with a small mercado near by. And then, a larger grocery, Intermarche is in driving distance.
We also were privy to an umbrella and two sun chairs on the beach. With it so hot, the beach was a fantastic place to hang out, not to mention, beautiful.
Wonderful restaurants in walking distance, our favorite being Boia Bar. They treated us like we were royalty. Very enjoyable and the most delicious swordfish.
The staff at Salema Beach Village were very accomodating and helpful, and I would definately return.
We never got sick of the spectacular sunrise!

***Why did I give this place a 4 rating*** The Master Bedroom smelled of cigarette smoke. We could tell that they had tried to eliminate it, but it was still there. The couple that stayed in that room got a headache from it. We needed to air it out every chance we could, but the smell still lingered. Such a pity for such a gorgeous place!

Spacious and luxurious Villa. Staff were always pleasant and helpful. Transport to and from village as necessary for those that don't want to walk the steep hill. All facilities both inside and outside the Villa were incredible. We will most certainly return to this amazing village, already looking forward to our next trip. Thanks to all at Salema Beach Village for a wonderful trip.

We stayed for 10 nights from 1st October in a two bedroom townhouse booked through Jet2 Holidays as a package.

We decided to hire a car from the airport and arrived later in the day and were checked in quickly. The lady who checked us in was not over friendly or welcoming and I had wished we had got the cheery young man behind reception with the American accent instead! We were not told about the safe in the main bedroom or the wifi.

We drove round to the townhouse and were able to leave the car very close by and never had a problem with parking. We were allocated villa number 61 and it was very spacious and everything appeared to be brand new in the kitchen. We were very impressed with the standard of accommodation it was like walking into a show apartment! The only criticism we had were the ants in the downstairs of the villa but we alerted reception straight away and someone came to spray the area although they were still present when we left and again we advised reception on check out.

Lidl supermarket is about 6/7 minutes drive away and there is an Intermarche about 4 minutes (which you pass on arrival). There is a very small (and expensive) mini market in Salema which we did not use. The villa had 3 outdoor spaces with sunbeds being on the ground level outside of the bedrooms. We did not visit the pool as we were lucky enough to get the sun on our terrace all day and were happy in our own garden shared with 2 other villas. We were secluded but when we walked around the complex we did notice some villas next to the road and we quickly realised we had a very well located property which was very quiet.

We found the villa to be around 15 minutes drive from Lagos which we visited three times and 30 minutes from Portimao and Alvor and around 1 hour 15 from Faro Airport.

We enjoyed walking down to the Salema and arranging a lift back up in the golf buggy and we were never let down with the pick up! We did walk up the hill a few times which is a killer in the heat.

We would recommend Salema Beach Village as long as people are prepared to make use of a car and realise it is slightly remote. The car hire is an added cost and the motorway has quite a few tolls to and from the airport. I am quite surprised that Jet2 offer this as a package holiday property given the location.

Every facility within 2 bedrooms house. Well serviced daily so very clean. Village has good swimming pool and Salema beach is outstanding. However recommend a car to see the lovely surrounding area. Steep hill down to Salema central but a shuttle is run from Village. Plenty of restaurants in Salema. Good Supermarket on outskirts Salema but you need transport there.

Everything about this place is incredible, from the stunning views to the very friendly staff. We opted for a sea view and it did not disappoint! The photos of this resort do not do it any justice, it is quite simply stunning. Our house was clean and spacious with a modern feel, lots of outdoor areas to enjoy the weather. I would definitely recommend hiring a car if you want to explore beyond Salema, as you are quite far from anywhere. This resort is on a hill and there is a buggy available to go up and down the hill to the beach and restaurants in Salema, I would highly recommend it as the hill is very steep. You just call reception to request the buggy and you will be collected from wherever you are. There is wifi available but this is the only real negative as it did not work in all parts of the house, specifically in the bedrooms or bathrooms downstairs. I would like to point out that is a very small negative as wifi is not generally a reason you book a resort, but if you are going to offer it then it needs to work. I really cannot recommend this resort enough, you will not regret staying here, I would happily return.
