Beautiful view

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 24 Aug 2016
Nice room overlooking the lake. The room was very comfortable and sound proof. On each floor, as you got off the elevator, there was water and fresh fruit for the taking. The buffet breakfast was very good, with the best croissants I've had in years and wonderful fruit salad, breads and jam. The shower was a walk in with the half door as is the case in most of Europe. The floor was extremely slippery and we both almost fell more than once, even though we were very careful. Also, since there is no door on the bathroom, anyone taking a shower is in full view to someone coming in the door from the hallway. Also, no bars to hold onto in the shower. The beds were very comfortable, no air conditioning, but they did give us a fan. I was told A/C is not allowed...who knows.
Front desk staff very helpful and pleasant.
No peephole in the door, that would be nice.
Overall, a nice hotel.

Thank you, sweetsofie1228, for your feedback. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay.
Your inputs are very valuable to us, and especially important if they concern safety matters. We will address the slippery showers immediately as other guests expressed their concern. As a first measure, guests can request shower mats from front desk. Also we are currently testing a safety coating - one room has already been equipped with an "AntiSlip" coating. If the tests are successful, we should be able to make all showers completely safe in a short period of time.

Thanks again for your feedback!

Stunning hotel spa in central Switzerland on the shores of the Lake of Thun.
Newly reopened after extensive renovation and expansion. Newly built 2 story hotel overlooking the lake. Extensive remodel of 2 older mid 1960's lakeside buildings that now house the hotels spa. Indoor and outdoor pools, saunas, steam rooms, massage rooms all located in the spa. Onsite spa staff available for wide range of spa treatments.
Checkin was quick and seamless. Lakeside room was spacious and modern. Large washroom with very large glass enclosed shower and separate WC. Bed very comfortable with large soft hypoallergenic duvet. Large flat screened TV. In room electronic safe. Ample closet space. Luxurious bathrobe and slippers provided along with extra towels for use at the pools and spa. The hotel was very quiet for sleeping. No noise from adjoining rooms or hallways even though hotel was full overnight.
Hotel has large restaurant overlooking the lake. Seating has both intimate tables for 2 and larger tables for 4, 6 or more.
The dinner menu and wine list extensive. Dinner came hot and cooked to perfection. Wait staff was very attentive.
Breakfast had many choices. Fresh fruit, yogurt, muesli, cereals, fresh baked bread and croissants, cheese and sliced meats. Hot eggs, strip bacon, hash brown potatoes, sausage. Choices of fresh fruit juice, teas and coffee.
Checkout was as easy as checkin.
Ample reduced rate parking for hotel guests and public bus stops outside the hotel entrance.
I would definitely stay longer on my next trip.

We spent 4 days at the Deltapark and we were all impressed. The front part of the hotel is brand new. The decor and rooms are beautiful. Some colleagues stayed in the original triangular buildings. Apparently these rooms have not been updated but they said the rooms were fine. Our only complaint was that there was no A/C and some nights got quite warm. The food was quite good and the bar near the lobby was well stocked. The meeting rooms were well equipped with the latest A/V equipment. I heard plenty of positive comments from everyone. I would recommend the Deltapark to anyone if they are in the Thun area.

Check-in was seemless.. I was escorted to my room and was shown all the bells and whistles. The room was spotless and view of the lake was stunning. Room was ultra modern, very spacious and comfortable. All lights are controlled by both your room key and individual switches, once you leave your room with your pass key all lights are turned off. WC is separate from shower and wash basin. The shower was very large and glass enclosed. Ample storage with in room electronic safe. Bed was very comfortable and no noise could be heard from adjoining rooms. I actually didn't realize hotel was so full until coming to breakfast. Luxurious robes and slippers provided with extra towels in a wicker hand basket for taking to the onsight spa. Large flat screen TV. The spa has both a very large outdoor fresh water jacuzzi and an indoor saltwater pool. Welcome cocktail provided at lobby bar.. A nice relaxing touch. A la cart menu was extensive with a good wine list. Seating was very intimate with tables for 2 guests to large dinner gatherings.
Breakfast was over the top. Fresh fruit, selection of yogurt, juices, cereals, wide selection of coffiees and teas and fresh baked breads. Hot eggs, potatoes, sausage and bacon.
Checkout was as easy as arrival. Paid onsite parking is substantially reduced for guests.
I would defiately stay longer when vacationing in the area again.

Room tip: Opt for a lakeside view

While I didn't stay at this hotel during my trip, during a walk around the lake while a friend tried her luck with stand up paddling on a over-sized surf board, we enjoyed a great cup of coffee and a piece of pie! The views and service are everything I've come to anticipate with the Swiss; fantastic!

Room tip: The hotel is closed for renovation so I can't help with any of this information

We stayed at this hotel for a wedding event. We had booked a double room, with balcony and shower and breakfast.
The hotel had a bit of a feeling of a very much dated summer camp hotel. It was very clean, but I didn't feel too comfortable there, mainly because of the school-camp-like atmosphere.
We celebrated until about 1 am in the morning. As we hadn't been told on check-in when the breakfast was, we thought it might be until 10:30 or 11 am in the morning (Sunday). We sadly overslept and when we called reception at 5 to 10 in the morning, we got the answer that breakfast was only served until 10 am sharp. We couldn't make that deadline, but our request for breakfast (not a buffet, just a bread roll and coffee) a bit later , like 10:15, was denied. They said that we could buy breakfast in the restaurant.... we declined, and then discovered, that they had charged us breakfast anyway, despite the fact that we didn't have it... .
As a Swiss I know it's a Swiss thing to be punctual and everything, but I did feel this inability to be flexible was a bit inadequate and not very customer friendly, especially as we had contributed to a huge wedding event with lots of money spent... . Not offering breakfast (not even a bread roll and coffee) and then asking for the full buffet price is simply not correct.
I wouldn't stay there again, mainly because of the dated feeling and this inflexibilty... .
