We are still staying at the Mykonian Avaton Hotel and it is fabulous.
From the moment we arrived at the gate we were greeted with smiles, a drink and a cooling face cloth to freshen us for check in. This was done swiftly and efficiently and Christina showed us to our fantastic room with a glorious view.
It was around 8.30pm and we decided to eat in the hotel restaurant. A table was found, again with that glorious view over the Bay. All the restaurant staff were friendly and helpful always happy and smiling. Our waitress Athena and Martinas, another of the restaurant team have been particularly helpful in advising on places to go and things to do both in the hotel and around the island.
Our bed is comfortable and definitely big enough for us. We have a hot tub on our balcony as well which is great for a social dip during the day and when we get back in the evening.
The hotel is cut out of a mountain and the contours of the hotel totally blend in with the shape of the hillside. It is a hilly area and the hotel has cleverly made a shuttle bus service available to everyone to get you up and down to the beach and taverna area free of charge.
The shuttle bus down to the beach takes you to a drop off point where sun beds are provided on the beach for the hotel guests only. Even down there you are greeted by friendly, smiling staff that lead you to luxury sun beds with shades if required. You can even order water, coffee, drinks etc and they will be delivered direct to your sunbed. Bonus....the sun beds are free.
There is also a free shuttle bus service to take you to and from Mykonos town throughout the day. Be aware though at 11.00pm and the last bus at midnight can get busy. However, the hotel laid on two coaches last night to cater for numbers. They really do think of everything.
If you want any information on the hotel and island, all members of staff are always willing to advise and if they aren't sure they will find out for you.
We have eaten again in the restaurant and the fine dining food is a very good quality. Given the location and the fine dining, it's a great place to eat. We have had a couple of bottles of wine now and we have been guided by an informative wine waiter. Both were excellent although a little pricey but hey, we are on holiday.
The main pool area is also beautiful with great views over the infinity pool. Staff around here are also brilliant, always smiling and acknowledging you as they pass by. They keep the place spotless as well. Snacks can be ordered along with drinks. The sun beds are also luxury and have huge brollies for shade if needed.
A Chill out music theme is piped around the pool area and the speakers are good as well. A DJ plays the tunes in the afternoons and evenings. Nice guy!
Can I recommend this hotel? Yes I certainly can. It is fab for a nice location, great staff, super facilities and a romantic feel to the whole place.
Book it and enjoy.

We came from Israel a couple and we had a dream vacation, perfect hotel and a perfect team. Everything is designed to the highest standard.
We booked a room with a private pool and we received a perfect room with a pool and privacy. Of course, all the rooms look beautiful, and we will certainly be happy to return to this hotel.

The hotel was amazing. The staff was some of the friendliest I have encountered. Martinos in the pool/restaurant was great...and I don't remember her name (blonde hair) but a woman in the concierge/reception was always so sweet and helpful. Very clean rooms and gorgeous views. Couldn't have asked for a more romantic spot for our honeymoon.

The only thing was location. While they do provide shuttles downtown (~35 minutes away) every hour, be prepared to sit on a hot bus and not have the flexibility of your own schedule. My husband gets motion sickness so we really dreaded the drive each time. Also the last one picks up at 12am so unless you want to taxi home you do have to leave early. However the buses were nice, clean, and had very friendly drivers.

This hotel, and the entire Myconian village of sister hotels, was a fabulous place to relax and soak in the Aegean experience. Our room, the pure outdoor jacuzzi room, was private and included breathtaking views of the quaint Elia beach as well as windows that allowed for an open-air feel when you wanted it. Sunset was amazing as the hotel faces west to southwest and the setting sun fell right behind an idelic hillside of small, traditional homes and fields.

The staff was kind and helpful, and their goal always seemed to be making sure we were enjoying ourselves. Breakfast included a good mix of Greek and other European-style options, but also tasty omelets, potatoes, bacon, and sausage. Transfers to the town were easy, although my wife and I were amazed at the skill the drivers had at backing down the slopes of the facility and around the narrow turns--to be expected in Greece I suppose. Lunches at the Elia beach restaurant were good, but dinners were our highlight. Shisu, the sushi restaurant at a sister hotel was delicious with great maki and good drinks. We went for a low-key dinner in town at Saxi's, a great hole-in-the-wall gyro and souvlaki chain, and were equally satisfied.

If you have the chance, you should stay here!

Just back from a week here. What an amazing wonderful hotel. If your wanting luxury then this is your place.

The hotel is a bit further out from the town, there is a bus put on to take you to the town however the timings aren't great! €25 for a taxi home at night was worth it. The bus is only 20 mins away.

The hotel is very expensive and not much around the hotel in terms of shops, bars etc although you can get all you want in the hotel in terms of food/snacks but it is expensive.

The staff were out of this world! Looked after us all day at the pool, thanks to Afrodyte at the pool smiles and amazing service! All staff were excellent!

One negative was the hot tub room my friend had was cold at night and after calling several times it was never sorted. He did discuss this with Mario the manager on checkout.
