This hotel has a great staff, the rooms are clean and tidy. It is just a couple blocks away from the shopping district which is amazing; and then another block or so to the beach. Overall, a very good place to stay in Traverse City.

Room Tip: Rooms in the west wing have a view of the lake.

Love staying here for one main reason: LOCATION! Perfect for walking around downtown and a good home base for adventures. Decor is somewhat worn, but it's typically clean and serves it's purpose well. Beds comfortable. Bathroom is tight with old fixtures. Bar at the top is fun, Menervas is ok as well. They also have a cool gift shop. Will definitely come back again and again.

Here’s the deal. Go to the elevator, hit T. Hang a right enjoy the sunset and get a vanilla silk or ask for a bling bling marghaita 5 not on the menu). The potato pizza is awesome! We had such a great time here! Got er done!

This a great hotel. It has been redone and those rooms show the improvements. The staff are great and very friendly. Tearryn Noble at the front desk always had a smile and a warm greeting at all times. Amanda Rollo in the bar/restaurant was also great, always with a smile and a recognition ( we were there three nights). She serves a mean (in a good way) cocktail!! If you can go for a room with a balconey-well worth it.

It is obvious that this hotel has elements of greatness with lobby details of beautiful, carved wood and an old world charm. Our king bedded room in the hotel tower was not large, but not too small with comfortable bed and suitable bathroom. There is a wonderful, cozy penthouse cocktail lounge with a piano player. It is well within walking distance of shopping, restaurants and bars.
On the less desirable side is the awful looking addition on the west side which looks like a tacked-on motel wing with rust stained balconies festooned with drying towels and bathing suits. In addition I'd recommend not using wadded up washcloths to prop open doors in the hallways. And please put an automatic door opener in the main entrance because sometimes people checking into a hotel have luggage.
