Stopped for lunch, very pricey and food nothing special. Fish pie very watery and burger very bland. Drinks expensive £4.50 for pint of coke.
Half hour wait for food and wasn't busy.

Won't return in a hurry

Ah. Wondeful! Hungry and travelling, we had passed one place and happened upon the Pilot Inn. Fish and chips to die for! Don't have the steak and kidney pudding unless you are really hungry. Lovely staff and great food.

My wife and I went for lunch. The pub was busy but service was OK. I had the rock, which was nice. My wife had the special, sea bass, which was disappointing. She found it bland and lacking in flavour, given its price, £18.95, and presentation. Browsing the comments on both the food and wine menus caused us also some surprise eg the 'listening ears' are in Greatstone not Dungeness.

We ate here maybe two years ago and we all raved about the fish and chips, so we were looking forward to our return visit. I am afraid that it is average at best. The fish was ok but the batter was thin and not at all beautiful and crispy as we recalled. The mushy peas were quite tasteless and the chips....well they were awful, we left most of them. They were not crispy and soft inside, but a bit tired and limp with a consistency that was very dry. Something has changed...please go back to what you were doing.
