For the price and location. This was a good fine during a trip into the UP. There is a heated pool and sauna with daily breakfast (could use some more variety). There is parking infront if the lodge that made for easy access to our cars. Attractions we visited in the area were Castle Rock and gift shop. The view from the top of the bridge could be great on a clear day. Highly recommended.

Checking in couldn't have been slower. The two people on the desk didn't appear to be able to do their job. There was only one person in front of us and it took a half an hour to get checked in. The common comment by the staff was "computer problems". Once we got into the room, we'd booked a single room with a queen, but they gave us a room that had two full size beds separated by the bathroom. One of the "bedrooms" had a TV and the heater, the other didn't have either. What impacted us the most was the smell! If smelled like it was a closed basement in the mid-west, the smell was awful, but there were no more available rooms. Even as outdated and worn as everything in the room was, from the carpet, to the furniture, to the laminate flooring, the smell was bad. We opened the outside door and turned the bathroom fan on and kept it on for the entire time. We decided to do a few things and left the door open with the bathroom vent fan on and when we go back about 4 hours later, the odor was still strong. After staying the night with the door open for a couple of reasons, the room we chose had the heater and it was either to hot or to cold but the smell was still there the next morning. The hotel advertised as having a hot breakfast which we were looking forward to with apprehension after having experienced the checking in process and the condition of the room. We didn't expect much and didn't get much. The breakfast was pancakes, syrup, & sausage. There were some English muffins and marbled bread for toast. There was also 2 kinds of cereal with milk. Definitely not what we had expected for a hot breakfast. I will say the buildings looked nice from the outside and they did have a bonfire in the evening. We did not use anything else the place offered.

We were experiencing technical problems with our computerized booking system when you arrived to check in, and we apologize for the inconvenience it caused. That problem has now been corrected. We are sorry to learn that you did not enjoy your stay, and we will look into the concerns you mentioned in this particular room.

Room #205
The decor was very tasteful and fun, relating to a lodge theme. The walls had birch trees and there were wood vaulted ceilings to add to the effect. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The pool & hot tub were great. The breakfast was just okay, there needed to be more variety. Our biggest complaint was the air conditioning unit. It was loud and never cooled the room down. The hot ventilation was blown into the hallway. All rooms had this type of ventilation system in our building. The air conditioner was placed next to the bed and that was not a good placement. The bathroom window opened but even then did not cool the room enough if at all. I probably couldn’t stay here again unfortunately.

We are happy to hear that you found our staff helpful and greatly enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Since the air conditioner in that particular room is brand new, we are surprised to learn that you found it ineffective -- we will definitely address that! Thank you for your compliments on our Lodge decor.

One of the friendliest desk Clerk’s in recent memory. Shuttle to casino available. Coffee in room. Swimming pool and hot tub. Front building a bit noisy because of pool which is open till midnight. Well pleased with our decision to book. Would stay here again.

Nice place at a decent price. The owners are on site and take pride in their property. We have been there twice. We plan to return in the future. Bed are comfy. Breakfast is plentiful. The best deal in Ignace!!!
