Three minor criticisms which prevent the full five star rating:
1. We stayed in the hotel's La Stub annex and the outside road noise was disturbing - surprising since there were trucks in addition to touring motor bikes and cars almost continuously during the saturday-to-sunday night
2. The swimming pool in the newly constructed area is relatively small for real swimming
3. There is no outside catering - a pity by nice weather since the grounds, although small, are pleasantly greened.
Apart from that:
o the restaurant (and wine cellar) fully deserve the two star Michelin rating
o our room (Marjolaine junior suite) was spacious and well equipped
o staff throughout the hotel are friendly and welcoming (and mostly at least bi-lingual)
o the breakfast buffet is copious and offers a wide variety of fresh and quality products
o there is ample car parking space, and
o dogs (we had two) are welcome, also in the restaurant.
The surrounding area is full of modern Franco-German/European history and, together with the lovely countryside and many attractive villages, is worth serious exploration.

The dinner was worth 3*. The premices are fantastic. However the service is not up to the standard. Overall pleasant experience but you need to work on the team who is not always up to the standard. Many thanks. We will come back

We arrived late at Auberge de Cheval Blanc very tired after a long flight and a long drive from the Frankfurt Airport. We checked in and we were given a beatiful room with a terase. The room was very clean and comtable. In the evening we went over to the restaurant and had a terrific meal of Le canard de Challans, which was delicious accompanied by a terrific wine recommended by the sommelier. We will definitely return and I highly recommend this place.

We rented a chalet for a week in Alsace and the owners recommended this restaurant. They very kindly booked us a table for Sunday lunch and made sure we could take our dog.
It is a hotel restaurant in a village. The toilets were very plush.
The food was lovely, very much fine dining. The amuse bouche were lovely as was the bread.
My husband and daughter had the halibut and I had the fillet steak with marrowbone. I ordered the steak to try marrowbone for the first time, however too rich for me. The dishes were lovely.
Highlight were the desserts, very pretty arrangement. Our daughter had a deconstructed Dame Blanche and it was decorated with a ballerina biscuit. I had a Mojito based dessert, and that came with a small Mojito. Delicious!
The staff were very accommodating to us and our dog. Well worth a visit.

We very much enjoyed everything here - the food was exquisite, the service was friendly, the room was nice, the wellness area was well-equipped with a selection of saunas and a steam room. It was a very nice break in Lembach.
