We just had the best time imaginable in Honor, Mi. Staying in a cute little two bedroom "housekeeping" cottage on Little Platte Lake. The views were stunning out every window which faced the lake. The breezes blowing in really made it feel like vacation. This cabin is a step back in time, think of visiting your grandparents cabin on vacation. The cabin and grounds are extremely clean and well kept. The owner Diane is a delight to talk with and she gives great suggestions for sights to see and places to go. You definitely want to stay a week, there's so much to do.
The nice part is, if you're on a budget like we were, you can cook and grill out right at the cabin which can help you save your money for activities you have to pay for.
Like cherry pie at the "Cherry Hut" restaurant in Beulah, right down the road.
You're close to Sleeping Bear Dunes for hiking or bike riding. If you like fishing, it's right out your door. There are several light houses all within a short drive. One of our favorites was in Frankfort about twenty minutes away, where you walked several hundred yards out cement piers to get to it. The beaches are sandy ,and very family friendly.
The sheer natural beauty of the grounds and the lake at Twin Birch Resort refreshed us and kept us in awe of our Creator.
This is a must see!
I had a thoroughly enjoyable time at Twin Birch. Diane is a wonderful host, the surroundings are truly peaceful and the cabin is adorable. I can't wait to book again.
