White sand that talks to your feet as you walk. A pier so that you can stroll out into beautiful Lake Michigan (or fish from). A wide beach that invites kids to cavort and staid adults to bask in sunshine. Really, what more could you want? Food? There's a concession stand...and restrooms. Sunsets? Stay on a mostly clear or partly clear evening for a real treat.
This is a state park, so you'll need to pay for admission, either daily or seasonal. If you are coming more than once, the season pass for your vehicle is your best bargain. It's good 92 of the 93 state parks (Fort Mackinac is not accessible by auto) and lets you skip the line to pay. It's a favorite among locals and people from the wider region.
