I've just returned from a most enjoyable 4-day stay in Frankfort, MI. on the shore of Lake Michigan, north of Manistee. The location is great [2 hrs. north of Muskegon and < an hour from Traverse City] and the drive up the lakeshore is beautiful. But the get-away was made perfect by the spacious yet warm accommodations at the Agape Leelanau Cottage. ALC is a very large old house within walking distance of downtown Frankfort. It has a bedroom and full bath on the main floor and three more bedrooms and another full bath upstairs. Plenty of space for large families or groups. Excellent kitchen facilities and furnishings throughout.
But what 'made' the stay for me in the midst of the frigid, blizzardy weather was the cozy, comfortable feeling sitting in front of the gas fireplace while reading or just watching the swirling snow outside. Peaceful, quiet, perfect! I can only imagine how enjoyable the 'cottage' and setting would be in summer as well. Thanks Eric for the hospitality and well-furnished home I was able to enjoy.
The house was awesome! Plenty of space, gorgeous; especially inside, and great location. I was also impressed by how easy the whole process was.
Excellent place to stay - big house with lots of room, nicely stocked kitchen, close to beach, town, Point Betsie.......Owner was very helpful and kind. I would love to stay again. Beautiful and enjoyable vacation.

The Agape House in Frankfort, MI, provides a relaxing and welcoming retreat for the vacationing family. Within walking distance to Frankfort shops, restaurants and Lake Michigan, this spacious and charming home has something for everyone, including complimentary freshly ground coffee! We enjoyed our nightly walk to the Lake Michigan beach to watch the sunset. We explored nearby hiking trails, including the trails in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park system. The house is close to Traverse City and Lelanau, offering a variety of interesting activities to enjoy during our stay. This was our second year staying in the Agape House; I know we would love to return again in the future!
This home was perfect and we had a great time. The house has big beautiful rooms with gorgeous woodwork. The clawfoot tub was great for bathing sandy kids. We especially enjoyed the back deck. Location is great too, quiet little street, easy walk into town and a slightly longer but nice walk to Lake Michigan. All in all a FANTASTIC value. Cannot recommend highly enough. We will be back again.
