Musty dirty smell was told no smoking rooms and they smell like smoke! Fans in hallway to mask dirty musty smell..Came into room and it seemed clean but there was a dirty toilet with urine all over it.. had a drink at the tiki bar and it was cloudy and tasted like dirt water..phone to contact front desk was not in working order. Indoor pool was very small. Dust all over, some kind of film all over bathroom yuck yuck yuck.. beach was ok but food sucked!! Don’t stay here u can find much better for less than 200 a night! I will be letting the front desk know my issues but I’m sure that they won’t do much especially if you can’t contact them on the service phone!

We stayed for 4 days in June with a large group for a convention. The hotel accommodated everything that we asked of them. We had a great time. I really appreciated that you could walk a few blocks to the shops and art show uptown. Some of our group used the trails to go for walks and others went out to the point to see the lighthouse.

Room tip: Pay the extra for the lakeview if you like the water.

Years ago this was the place to go in Tawas. The Bikini's Beach Bar had awesome live music, decent bar food and drinking a beet overlooking Tawas Bay (Lake Huron) topped in all off. Of course, this was the Tawas Holiday Inn years ago.
Today the hotel has been rode hard and put away wet. It's needed updating since 1998 and the current ownership is milking it for all its worth. The wait staff are nice but completely incompetent and slow and I mean slow. 45 minutes for a bucket of beer! The rooms smell horrible like a mixture of musty smoke from 20 years ago. The reviews stating otherwise must be paid reviewers, because its not what they state. The free breakfast does not make up for the lack of cleanliness, outdated rooms with worn out mattresses and horrible F&B service and quality. Oh, and if you go with your family over a holiday weekend in the summer, be prepared to keep your kids off the beach. The lack of self image - self awareness this last week in Tawas was simply incredible!

My husband and I stayed here for one night July 5 th
We had a blast. Another reviewer complained about the price but it was well worth it
The rooms were immaculate, beds new and comfortable, employees friendly and helpful.
The beach and pool were nice
They give you free $20 voucher per day to spend on food and beverages and free breakfast
The best part - the tiki bar on the beach. They had a band from 1-5 and a couple who sang and played from 6-10. They were fantastic . Great songs had everyone up and dancing
It was just a Great time all around. Would greatly recommend this place . And definitely will stay here again
