My daughter and I stayed at Himeloch last September for a week. We had an awesome experience. The house, rooms and grounds are just beautiful. In addition to that there was a hot tub and a top notch game room, stacked with snacks. Don was an awesome cook and offered a variety of choices for breakfast. Every time it was delicious. We really felt spoiled. Thank you Don and Melissa for everything.

I had a week long vacation and I didn't plan very well, so, on a whim, I looked up B&Bs in surrounding area and booked a few. Great idea with great results! It is obvious from the moment that you step in that great care and attention to detail is given to this Inn. Don was so welcoming and provided a wonderful walk through. He was attentive, kind, and a great chef, providing attention, but not being overbearing. I stayed in the Myer and Rosa Suite and this is definitely the suite that I would recommend if you have the opportunity. There's a comfortable sitting area, the bed, and the bathroom!! The bathroom is magnificent!! This room also has direct walking access to the game room (not directly attached, so no worries about noise, but easy access). So glad I came here. I like Pros and Cons list as they are more visually appealing, so I will provide one below:

Pros:
1. Attention to detail--clean,beautifully decorated, not cluttered.
2. The Myer and Rosa Suite is super spacious!
3. The bathroom!-It has history and it is so spacious; separate claw foot tub and a shower area. It is so roomy!
4. Easy access to the game room, if you so choose. The game room has it's own separate bathroom, a pool table, t.v., slot machine. It's neat.
5. Walking distance to downtown.
6. The hospitality-Don was so gracious and kind. Good conversation, but he's not overbearing at all, allowing for space if wanted/needed. He's also a great chef-my breakfast was amazing!
7. Good, hearty, breakfast. You get to choose from a menu that he then prepares for you. Yum!
8. This room was quiet! I loved that I couldn't hear anything. :)

Cons:
1. The town is little, so there's not much to walk to, at least not that I saw.
2. There are spots for about 3-5 cars to park, the parking was slightly awkward for me, but this is just a me thing. There's also parking across the street if needed.

Room tip: Myer and Rosa Suite!!! The room itself and the bathroom is much bigger!! :)

This is my second visit and there have been great decorations. Last year my visit coincided with Halloween. This year it was all Christmas including motion detecting mistletoe. The proprietors are both gracious and accommodating in their exquisitely restored Victorian bed and breakfast. My wife and I love this gem and plan to stay here whenever we visit our family in Caro. It is a vacation in itself.

My husband and I took our first trip to Michigan at the invitation of some friends who have a cottage in the north. When we left Bay View, we decided to spend a couple of days visiting towns on our way back to Detroit (where we would fly back to Southern California). On a fluke, my husband found Himelhoch B & B outside of Frankenmuth. The price and rating pulled him in. We left Frandenmuth (to total tourist trap) and started the 35 minute drive to Caro. We drove and drove past barns and fields of green and at one point I thought for sure we were lost in the middle of nowhere! I wish I'd had the camera ready for a selfie when we finally came upon this gorgeous B & B!! OMG!! The pictures do not do it justice!
This Victorian home has been brought back to its former glory with incredible attention to detail. We stayed in the Myer & Rosa Suite (highly recommend) and I was practically dancing with delight. Immaculate, elegant, spacious and very comfortable! The large bathroom with a deep claw-foot tub as well as a multi-head shower was very luxurious!
The owner, Don, was very friendly and ready to tend to any need.
There were Big Screen TVs in the room and at our disposal in the game room as well.
Breakfast was made to order and really delicious!
If you're looking for a very special place that's off the beaten path, this is WORTH THE TRIP!
it would be a great place for two couples to spend the weekend. You would have the place completely to yourself!!
Bottomline: You're getting a 5+ star accommodation for the price of 2-3 stars elsewhere.

Room tip: Small Upscale B&B...choose the Myer & Rosa Suite!! Gorgeous!!

I am not one who typically gets online to write a review (for better or worse), but THIS B&B deserves it!! The property itself is meticulous with extreme perfection to detail (including gracious hospitality by Don, clean & comfortable rooms, and a charm that whisks you away to the "old days"). My husband and I spent two days relaxing in the room with a whirlpool, played several games of pool in the nice game room, and walked along the very quaint streets of Caro. If you're looking for a quiet, affordable, unique getaway, this is your place!
