I called this a business trip from the menu choices, because AAU basketball is all about taking care of business. From the players to the parents, the sponsors to the coaches, I doubt anyone actually enjoys the grind of five hour drives, packed games on cramped courts, crowded parking to overpriced, stale concession food, etc. Any respite from that mess has to come from a relaxed hotel environment, with casual dress, flexible rules, and accommodating staff. On these fronts, Residence Inn Boston Westford clicked on all cylinders.
This is an older, relatively smaller Residence Inn, so the rooms are tighter, appliances dated, carpets probably needing replacement. But notwithstanding some complaints from 2021, we found this property to be spotless. We booked a two-bedroom suite, which opens to a living room with a fireplace (gas-fired), full kitchen with dishes, flatware, and basic cooking needs, paper towels, dish washing soap, and glassware. In short, a modest, but not cramped, furnished apartment meeting the needs of sleep deprived parents.
Arrival: assigned parking spaces for check-in. Front desk staff are uniformly helpful, friendly, wearing multiple hats (from check-in to concierge to town crier). There's a pool; a basketball/general purpose court outdoors, along with a cozy courtyard featuring a built-in gas grill for guests' use should you have time to barbecue in your off hours. There's a modest dining room for the free breakfast users with lounge space as part of the open floor plan. They have a kiosk behind the front desk for snacks, candy, Ben and Jerry's, and sundries; prices comparable to Wawa. Front parking lot reserves about 10 spaces with electric charges installed.
Dining room staff are ever-present, open to suggestion, and responsive to the most arcane requests (I'm not used to small events having oat milk, soy, fat free, 2%, and lactose free milk on display.) Housekeeping helpers work hard but will only clean your room every third day absent a specific need. They are on the move daily, so if you need towels, walk down the hall instead of complaining to the front desk.
Each floor has a full laundry room ($3/wash and $3/45-min. dry cycle). They keep quarters at the front desk. We shared the hotel with a girls' dance competition contingent, so availability of laundry was critical for every group.
I spoke to the front desk manager, Star, during my check out, who was just as gracious in the process as the young man who checked us in. I think she appreciated my comments prior to departure and suggested I write a review. I suspect this is more than she had in mind, but these folks were well worth it.

We are a family of five with young children, and we stayed at this hotel for two months due to having to vacate our home under awful circumstances. The entire staff were wonderful, and so supportive while we were dealing with so much stress! It meant a lot to know they cared, they really went above and beyond. The entire front desk team at various times helped us cope with hotel living; Star, Amy, Kyle, and Julie all were looking out for us. The housekeeping staff did more than keep us comfortable, they all had kind words and smiles for the kids daily; they loved seeing Courtney, Kelly, Dell, Rose, Elvia, Brooke, and Steven on their rounds! Even the breakfast kitchen staff were lovely, the gentleman who cooked breakfast during the week was always kind and helpful when I had my hands full. All in all it was a very hard time for our family, but I'll always be thankful it was this hotel we wound up at for it. What lovely people!

Good day,
Thank you so much for staying with us during this very stressful time in your family's life. Traveling with a large family can be stressful, however being forced to leave your home for months can be almost too much to handle. It was our sincere pleasure to help you, and your lovely family, make the best of the situation. We are so grateful you choose to stay with us and allow us to be your home away from home. Everyone on the team was grateful to have been mentioned, by name, in your heart-warming review...thank you! From all of us here at the hotel, we wish you and your family a safe and enjoyable rest of the year. Please feel free to stop by anytime as you will always have friends here.
We hope your next trip to the hotel will be a stress free one and one in which you are back to use the pool.
Sincerely,
Michael L. General Manager Residence Inn by Marriott Westford

We stayed for 2 nights and the room was very clean, comfortable, spacious, with a fireplace, windows that open, AC, kitchen/living room and each bedroom had its own TV and bathroom. Perfect for up to 6 people if the couch opens. We didn’t try. The continental breakfast was delicious. It’s sad that some guests leave the tables so dirty and don’t even put their used paper plates/utensils on the trash. But the staff was keeping up with it. The smell of food on the hallways is not very pleasant but it’s not the hotel’s fault since they offer rooms with microwaves and even stoves…but everything else was perfect. My only suggestion is that the bathrooms be updated in the future! The location is perfect, close to everything you need. Restaurants, CVS, Panera, 5 guys, Asian food, Kimball Farm, 18min from Devens (for the soccer crowd),etc. The indoor pool is nice, as is the outdoor courtyard by the pool with tables, fire-pit and outside heaters! The kids liked the basketball court. The parking lot is all around the hotel, and they have a fee spots with electric cars chargers. They have a snack market with some limited but conveniente beverages/food/meds options by the front desk. They also have a gym room and a guest laundry room. The front desk staff was very friendly and polite. I am under the impression you have to request clean towels if your stay is short. We will come back!

I highly recommend staying here if you need an extended stay hotel! The staff(front desk, kitchen, housekeeping) has been the friendliest hotel staff I have ever dealt with! Star(front desk) has been fun to talk with and super friendly! The rest of the front desk staff has been super friendly also I’m just bad at names! The rooms are the perfect size with a very comfortable bed and couch! There is also a stove, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and coffee maker!Housekeeping has been great and if things were needed all you had to do is ask! The breakfast service had so many choices including cereal, oatmeal, make your own waffles, some kind of egg dish, bacon or sausage(depending on the day), fruit, yogurt, bagels, coffee and so much more! All of this plus once again the awesome staff has made the stay here the best!!!

Stay two nights for a business trip in the area. Well some areas of the hotels seem to have been improved since the last time we were there, carpet in the Corredor‘s and new paint on the walls, our room which was a two bedroom suite was lacking. Both toilets had dark rust stains which were very unappealing. Gas fireplace did not work and when we called the front desk we were told there was no one there who could assist with getting it up and running. Pillows were beyond uncomfortable. Window screens were bent. Kitchen was in need of a makeover with cabinets chipped and ready to fall off hinges. My guess is they figure you were at the office all day so who cares but when you are working in the room it definitely makes a difference. One positive was complementary breakfast was well organized and there was a very friendly, hard-working woman who was making sure everything was fresh. Property definitely needs some attention and hopefully they will put some effort into it.
Room tip: Next time I would inspect the room before checking in.

1/28/2022 - Massachusetts in the middle of a blizzard I am not driving my family in the storm to a hotel. I cancelled 2 days prior (due to upcoming storm) and they won’t refund my $166.21 - the GM of the Marriott Boston Westford was rude, wouldn’t give me his name, hung up on me saying there’s nothing he can do and to call Marriott Customer service. I did call - a case opened and they said i should be refunded by Friday I’ll get an email. Friday comes , no email, so I call back - I speak with Vickey in Elite Member services who says the GM closed the case with no response and there is nothing she can do and theirs no one I can escalate this this case to. Gov Baker closed the roads - it’s the most snow Massachusetts is getting in history perhaps - I’m not bringing my family to that Marriott name hotel and place them in harms way, afraid for our lives because a Manager doesn’t know how to be a manager. Marriott you’ll lose more business than you realize! I was charged $166.21 and cancelled two days prior! I would like a refund to remedy this situation - please have someone with a brain from Marriott contact me! Thank you
