We stayed in room 11 of the motel. We usually stay in hotel chains so my daughter was a bit dismayed at what she saw - a very outdated room that does have its own charms. There are lots of pluses to staying here - the owners have true pride in ownership and love the cape, rooms are clean with lots of towels, and the property is absolutely gorgeous with all the gardens. There are several locations to sit outside and enjoy the area. The pool is clean and a very good size. Lots of tv channels offered. The cottages look cute, but small. Housekeeping was thorough. And of course, you cannot find cheaper accommodations on the cape I would think. But for us, though satisfied, we likely would not return. You are at the mercy of the other guests in the motel for noise level and we lost out all five nights with two different families. You can honestly hear everything! Bring some ear plugs just in case. The wifi is functional even in room 11, but it will cut out now and again. However, there is a shortage of plugs so a few powerbars in rooms would be helpful. The bathroom showed the age of the place the most with a yellow toilet, sink and shower and the shower is very tiny, making it difficult to even turn around. With no venting, you will see mold on the wallpaper in the upper corners of the bathroom, on the showerhead and rust on the drain. The beds were not very comfortable but after being outside all day, you seem to fall asleep anyways. The refigerator was old and very very tiny (smaller than a bar fridge)but very very quiet. You did not hear a thing from it even though it is right beside a bed. Though centrally located on the cape, the motel itself is not really close to any town so you will have to drive a few miles to either Chatham, Orleans or Harwich. What we missed about these accommodations was access to the rail trail as we like to bike where we can but we had to drive to access the trail as the roads were just too busy. There is a short trail in the woods further down Quanset road close to the bay to try though and there is the gas bar just around the corner. For our needs, we are much better off in another town closer to the bike trails and potentially in a cottage but we will definitely need to pay more then.

We nearly always spend some time at the Ridgewood Motel when on Cape Cod. It's homey, affordable, and you're treated like family here. Our room, although small (and really - how much room is needed for a good night's sleep?), was bright and cheery. What makes this motel unique is the beautiful back yard. It's a treat that Stan and Agie allow guests to share their personal sanctuary of flower gardens, swimming pool and songbirds. For us, this makes for a nice late afternoon respite after a long day at the beach.

Central location. Good, basic, and most importantly, clean accomodations. Very friendly and accomodating owners. Fresh coffee and pastry in the morning. The price is right. Couldn't ask for much more.

From the moment we arrived we felt at home, and we traveled all the way from California. Stan, the owner, was available with fresh coffee and pastry in the morning and plenty of interesting history about the Cape as well as advice about what to visit and/or avoid. We were so happy that we found the Ridgewood Motel -- it was simply a fantastic bargain, clean and comfortable. Even our teenagers liked it.

Room tip: We stayed in rooms 9 and 10 because they were adjoining once we removed the inner door.

Nice cottages and a comfortable motel - You can't beat the price on Cape Cod. There's a nice, but small pool on site. It's a short 3-4 mile drive to the town. You will spend most of your time on the Cape on the beaches or visiting attractions. This is a convenient, reliable place to lay your head at night. It won't break the budget, so you can spend your money on the things you'd like to do. We've stayed there for many years and look forward to it each summer.

Room tip: One of the motel rooms has a small, back deck. Ask for it, if you want a place to sit outside.
