Step back in time to the Gilded Age as you enjoy your breakfast in the Music Room of the Wyndhurst Mansion. Everything is casually elegant and the staff is friendly. The buffet has a little something for everyone's taste including the typical eggs, bacon, sausage, yogurt, French toast, and waffles. For the price though, I expected something a bit more impressive such as a chef to "make-to-order" omelettes or crepes - something to provide the WOW factor.

During the last four months, we have eaten there approximately eight times. The food that is presented is indeed plentiful and is of very high quality. The fruits are all fresh, cut to appropriate sizes, and are extremely colorful. Should you wish yogurt, it is right by the fruits along with delicious granola. They have the hot section with scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon, and sausage. Please, however, don't miss the omelet station. It is over in the bar area, and they use free-range eggs to give you a fantastic omelet or scramble.

They also have locks fresh bagels and other bread as well as outstanding pastries that you will certainly remember being a major highlight. My wife and I always go for the pancakes due to the delicious batter they use in the way they make them. Of course, fresh maple syrup sitting right next to the pancakes or French toast so you can enjoy a truly New England breakfast.

Finally, the music room is a beautifully decorated and impressive room with high ceilings along with stunning ornamental details. Great views can be found in the bar area or the overflow dining area extension off of the music room of the golf course and the Berkshire Mountains.

Service is of the primary importance of the Cranwell food locations. We have always been impressed with all of their servers and never had an issue with one. They make an effort to remember the repeat customers and are always very obliging any special requests.

If you were passing through this is a perfect place to stop. If you're staying on the property it is one of the best meals you find in the county for brunch. Finally, if you are a local and you want to impress a guest, this certainly is a rare restaurant where is the architectural grandeur of the Golden Age is well represented.

We expect to continue visiting at least once.

Years ago, we had Valentines Day dinner at Cranwell, a Guilded Age, historic mansion and it was a disaster. Fast forward several years, different management, service, and chef and, voila, a what a difference! The place itself is lovely and was unchanged but everything else was a completely enjoyable experience this time -- terrific, attentive service and really good, creative menu that lived up to its promise and even a beautiful red rose for each lady to take home for Valentine's Day.
Upon arriving, our coats were taken at the door without coat checks, and we were seated immediately.
There was only a price fixed menu dinner for the day, with limited choices, but the variety was so well chosen I don't think anyone would have had a problem finding something to enjoy, vegetarians, vegans, gluten free included. I have a few allergies that they had no problem accommodating. Each dish was plated beautifully and tasted as good as it looked.
After dinner, we went back to the door where out coats met us with a rose and Happy Valentine's Day wish.
All in all, a lovely evening.

Food OK, service just OK. Nick was very nice. The fireplace needs to be on more. Need more variety on menu. Should change menu daily.
