The hotel was reserved and paid for by family for a wedding. We arrived at a late hour only to find there are no locked doors to enter the hotel. So needless to say anyone could be in the hallways. And the hallways were filthy smelly. On to my room. There was dirty furniture in the sitting room. There was pieces of food in the microwave, the coffee pot had dirt and mildew in the top. The bathroom was the worst with mildew inside the toilet and cobwebs and dead bugs on the baseboards. I showed the housekeeping manager and he explained the place was purchased less than a year ago they need to catch up!! Do not stay there. Sleep in your car if necessary. No excuse for dirt.

Booked this place for a work conference. It has a funky smell, the hallway carpets were filthy when I arrived and never cleaned for the 3 days I was there. The back door is broken and has no way of latching closed so requires no key to get access to all the interior doors at night. On checking out early I watched the person cleaning up the breakfast wipe the floor and then wipe the counters. Glad I never ate there. There are much nicer locations in McHenry pick one of them.

Thank you for your response and we value your opinion. The hotel is in need of an upgrade and we are hoping this happens next year. In the meantime we have been making some improvements that are within our ability. We are also bidding out several jobs to have things completed like cleaning the hallway and stairwell carpet. We will be sure to share your comments and thanks for choosing us.

So I dont know what's going on with this Quality Inn, but it lacks the Quality it's supposed to have. We stayed in one of their suites or lack there of. Let's start with the ants, lack of maintenance and cleanliness. The only reason it gave it a 2 is because of the cost, it was convenient and the breakfast was a standard hotel breakfast.

The staff was nice. The breakfast was free and featured make your own waffles cereals, bagels, toast, etc.

My wing (rooms numbered 200 between the exercise room and gym was quiet. It was clean if not new. The humidity is higher than average. Towels will not dry overnight.

Pillows are small, but fine.

Frequented by many in construction working in the area, polite and no problems.

We got rained out of our campsite and had to find a last-minute booking in the middle of Labor Day weekend. The only place available was the Quality Inn.

To their credit, the front desk was competent and we were lucky enough to get one of the clean rooms. Wifi worked. Room was big. For $80 after tax on a weekend holiday, this is the minimum of what I'd expect.

But the lobby was a hazard. "New Management" has been replying to tripadvisor reviews about the leaky lobby roof since February 2018. It was still leaking in September, which shows they've done NOTHING about the roof issue for at least 6 months. Who knows what kind of mold spores have been growing in that time, just feet from where they serve breakfast. Someone should call the health department.

Also, no cones or signage around the wet floors, which is an OSHA violation / lawsuit waiting to happen. Often the leaks were collected in ice buckets from the hotel rooms. We did NOT use our ice bucket, concerned about nasty ceiling water.

Lobby, stairwell, hallways smelled. Craters in the parking lot. Deceptive marketing photos do not depict the dilapidation present on this property.
