As we had a (very welcome) dog with us we took one of the rooms at the back of the hotel, with patio doors out onto a decked area & lovely views over the countryside. The room was large with a king size bed & a huge bathroom with both a jacuzzi bath & a walk in shower. Breakfast was perfectly adequate without being anything special. The evening meals were excellent, in terms of all of choice, quality & quantity. The staff were very friendly. The Inn is about 7 miles outside St Andrews & on a busy road. There doesn't appear the be easy local walking & we certainly didn't even contemplate letting the dog off the leash. Whilst the slight remoteness of the Inn is a negative, the quality of the accomodation & food, along with the remarkably modest accomodation price are definate positives. We will go back & will also recomend it to others.

Room tip: room 17 is at the end of a row & no-one walks past your window.

On first approaching this place it didn't look particularly great but wow. Not cheap by any means but was a birthday treat for my fiancee. Big room with jacuzzi bath and on stepping outside our balcony just fields and sheep. A great getaway for peace and tranquility. Lovely warm welcome, polite staff who couldn't have been more helpful. Warm friendly bar. We had our evening meal here which was superb as was breakfast .

We visited the inn at lathones as our son was looking around St. Andrews university.
The rooms are great value and a good size.
All staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the food ( both breakfast and evening meal ) were excellent. We would definitely like to return here, whether our son chooses to go to the university or on a leisure break.

Myself and 8 others stayed here over the weekend. On our arrival the staff were very friendly and were offered fresh milk for our stay. Great cosy wee cottage like rooms really comfy beds pillows I didn't like but others in the party loved! Room was a good enough size for a double room tea/coffee/hot chocolate with kettle in the room fresh milk and shortbread plus many more little things was a great touch!

Bathroom is a big let down shower leaked on the floor hairs left in the bath from previous occupants grubby shower screen mouldy looking at the joins a heater that didn't work. Not a powerful shower at all but it was warm at least.

Breakfast was great if you eat meat plenty choice 4-5 different options. Their was also toast cereal porridge fruit and fruit juices at breakfast with tea and coffee. And I was told the coffee was amazing!! I'm a vegetarian so was a bit disappointed their wasn't any options for breakfast. Staff at breakfast were very polite and cannot fault!

Enjoyable stay but was shocked when we went to check out very expensive place to stay for the standards.

Stayed for 1 night and wished we could have stay for more! Lovely cosy, but good sized room with jacuzzi bath and shower. Very relaxed atmosphere and delicious food served in the restaurant. Pleasant and friendly staff. An excellent place to stay for a wee romantic night away!

Room tip: Some rooms have views of fields, ours didn't, but ask first!
