“Escape to Maine”
Reviewed 10 May 2018 for a stay in May 2018

Prosehaven was my first stay in Maine and it won’t be my last. I loved the town of Rockland and the artistic community that lives there. I had the pleasure of making the First Friday art walk of the season and bought a sweet painting.

Prosehaven is the perfect vacation getaway. It was a quiet and peaceful 200 year-old house. The bedrooms are cozy and the kitchen, living room, and dining area are extremely well maintained. My host, Maureen, had excellent suggestions for day trips and restaurants. I can’t wait to return.

“exceptional rental in house with history”

The rental portion of this Rockland ME property is entirely private and self-sufficient, it's beautifully furnished, with a terrific kitchen, living room, two upstairs rooms with great light and bathroom with all you need. The amazing part is that the house is really old, 1803, I believe, and in terrific shape, with a new heating/cooling system, but actual horsehair under the plaster on some of the walls which makes it fascinating to speculate on life lived here in the past. Rockland itself has everything...sweet shops, excellent restaurants, two good museums, a lovel6y waterfront, places to swim, hike, kayak, take boat trips to islands. I'd love to return as soon as possible and highly recommend.

“Great location”

Great location in quiet neighborhood, within easy walking distance to all that downtown Rockland has to offer - good restaurants, art galleries, unique shops, the Farnsworth Museum, and ferries to the islands.
Private entry to the rental, is like having your own apartment. Spacious, spotlessly clean, nicely furnished kitchen.

“Simple and thoughtful accommodations”

Maureen was very accommodating as we unexpectedly needed a furnished rental off-season. Great location, central to everything the mid coast area has to offer. Clean, vintage home with rustic charm. Well stocked kitchen and wonderfully comfortable beds! Some of the best nights sleep I have had in a while. Grateful...
