This was a true local restaurant. The food was cooked well and the fish was fresh and tasty. The salad bar was small.

Great food. Grilled Dungeoness Crabs were great. Boiled shrimp were great. Raw oysters were good. Avoid the gumbo...basil in gumbo? Great atmosphere.
During the last five trips to Alexandria-Pineville area my clients told me about Tunks-Cypress inn. The staff there has always been courteous and helpful.
The alligator bites are excellent. I have yet too have a bad meal and always look forward to go there. Try the hummingbird cake, the catfish and shrimp.
There is an older lady that still waitresses there that is fun to talk to she knows six different languages.
When you are the area go eat there it's worth the drive.
we had a very good meal there, and the different beers was great.
Service was very slow, but the food made up for it. Seems they need more waiters as it took over 2 hours to eat, and they were very slow. Try the bucket of Craw Fish.
