While on vacation in Kentucky, we visited the Kentucky Derby Museum. The museum experience given here is phenomenal. First of all, the exhibits are top-notch. An Historic Walking Tour is included in the price of admission. This tour surpassed all of my expectations. We really learned a lot, and were taken to many places around, and outside the track. We also went on the Barn & Backside Tour, which is done by van, and that tour, as well, was excellent. The gift shop is lovely, and parking was plentiful.
All of the employees we encountered were so pleasant, and helpful. Kudos to a very impressive museum and staff!!

Stopped in Loisville on the way to Indiana. My wife has going to the Derby on her bucket list so we went to the Museum. We were pleasantly surprised with the visit. The theater in the round was amazing and the exhibits were interesting to even the most novice race fans. We took the 9 30 tour, which I would recommend because it is the only one where you actually see the horses work out. I was also able to get some pricing on attending the Derby. A very worthwhile visit.

Did not know much about the Derby ,until we visited the Museum and track. We found it to be well worth the time to visit. We also learned things about the Derby we never knew. Do not leave without seeing the movie.

If you enjoy US history and the Kentucky Derby this place is for you and make sure you check out the film that they make each year that shows the raising of a Thoroughbred horse from birth to the derby, it is one of the best films that you will ever see, the museum and the tour are awesome, went week before derby and you get to see some of the horses that will be competing on the backside tour and how the people live, great tour and museum
