Stopped in Loisville on the way to Indiana. My wife has going to the Derby on her bucket list so we went to the Museum. We were pleasantly surprised with the visit. The theater in the round was amazing and the exhibits were interesting to even the most novice race fans. We took the 9 30 tour, which I would recommend because it is the only one where you actually see the horses work out. I was also able to get some pricing on attending the Derby. A very worthwhile visit.

Did not know much about the Derby ,until we visited the Museum and track. We found it to be well worth the time to visit. We also learned things about the Derby we never knew. Do not leave without seeing the movie.

If you enjoy US history and the Kentucky Derby this place is for you and make sure you check out the film that they make each year that shows the raising of a Thoroughbred horse from birth to the derby, it is one of the best films that you will ever see, the museum and the tour are awesome, went week before derby and you get to see some of the horses that will be competing on the backside tour and how the people live, great tour and museum

We were just passing though and decided to stop at the museum and so glad we put this on our list of things to do. So worth taking the time to visit. We did the walking tour that is included in the cost of the entrance fee. We would have liked to do the longer tour, however it was fan week (week of the Derby) and some parts of the longer tour were closed to the public. Totally understandable. The walking tour did get us into the grandstands so we did get to see the field. The museum is full of history and worth taking the time to read the displays and watch the videos. We would love to go back with friends and family.
