The highest point on all of Cyprus, not the ‘real’ Mount Olympus, but still really, really high, and giving great views across the island. The ski-lift is exhilarating and fun, and adds a bit extra to the last bit of the trip – and saves a little more of a climb! – but the actual top is not very pretty, marred as it is with telecoms equipment and a closed-off military site. But look outwards and the views really are good.

We were only able to drive, rather than walk any trails on this occasion. We park at the no cars past here sign (which at least one car ignored) and walked the road to the top. Disappointing views to be honest on the walk up & as close you can get to the top. A large portion of the summit is sealed off to military or weather radar use. No photos allowed. Next time I'd do a walk trail.

Take the Artemis Trail around the summit of Mount Olympus. It is 3 km long and fairly easy going as it is all at the same level. Views are superb and many of the shrubs and trees have descriptive markers. Do recognise that this is over 6000 ft high and can be fairly cold even when the coastal sites are sweltering. When we went in April 2018, we made the mistake of going without adequate clothing and had to abandon the walk as there was a light snow shower. The Cyprus Tourist Office provides a good free brochure on nature trials as well as good free maps.

Red dirt and old pines. That will be all the scenery you'll get, except some couples of buona vista places, from where you can spot the sea. The road get to the summit but you won't, as it is closed due to military activity zone. By car it is by no means spectacular, but considering low traffic by bike could be (there are marked bicycle lanes). If you are nearby, give it a shot, if not, aim for the seacost.

Lovely drive up the mountain with the family. Short stops on the way. Drive was nice, and the view was very spectacular. Ski Club on the top - snow in Cyprus!
