I've been here a lot in the last year. Burger selection is smaller than Burgerhaus (also in Valpo), but the prices are better and the atmosphere is fun. Was here with my husband and son today, and had the Industrial Revolution burger, medium, with garlic fries. The burger was perfectly cooked, the fries very good, and I asked for a side of garlic aioli (which was .75) because my friend had it when I was here last and it really enhanced the fries. Don't like the sweet potato fries, but my son ate them up, but he's on a health kick. My hubby had the chicken-fried chicken, and loved both the meat and the potatoes, which were warm. That's harder to get at a restaurant than you think. We've been to lots of places where the taters are cold and they just slap meat on it, hoping that warms it up. Not here. He ended the meal with a pumpkin pie, and I was dubious when we saw it, because it looked weird on top. But after sampling it, I realized that was a sprinkle of spice, and the pie itself was very tasty, spicy and delicious, just like I like it. I make an awesome pumpkin pie (James Beard recipe) and have for years, but I thought this pie was better than the recipe of that famous chef. Service was pretty good and attentive until it got busy (we came just when it opened) and I ended up paying $71, which was for 3 meals, 2 fountain drinks, and a dessert. That's pretty good these days, because usually when my son comes with us, we end up spending over $100. I know we did last time at Burgerhaus. Minus the tip, that's about $19 a person, which isn't crazy these days when McDonald's meals are just under 10. Very happy with the quality of the meal and I'll keep going here whenever I'd like a good meal and a good conversation, since it isn't overly loud at all. Parking lot is the worst part of the experience.
