While we only had a two night stay at A Dune Escape together with visiting German family, it was perfect in every way for us as two couples and made for very special memories. From the moment we drove up to the secluded location amongst the bush land behind the dune, it was WOW... The house was exceptionally well appointed, very tastefully decorated, the series of glass doors on two sides of the house opening to the spacious decking areas and big picture windows taking in the lovely and varied views all around, it was obvious the attention to detail, planning and thoughtfulness that has gone into creating this eco-friendly haven. A gourmet kitchen adjacent to the open plan living and dining areas, luxurious bathroom, separate toilet, very comfortable beds and then there was the seating area at the crest of the dune just a few steps behind the deck, a perfect place for a glass of wine at sunset, a coffee at sunrise, stargazing at night or just lazing about at any time overlooking the wide long white beach with crystal clear blue water. A couple minutes walk down the dune steps onto that beautiful beach for swimming or long walks, even seals and penguins around the rocky point at the far end of Emu Bay Beach. Mist hanging low in the valley in the mornings, kangaroos and wallabies in the bushland garden each evening and morning... In addition, the owners were very helpful, welcoming and thoughtful from the outset of the first enquiry months before to the day of our departure. A perfect place to relax and take it all in and with close proximity to so many attractions for day trips and the services of Kingscote. Very highly recommended.

My husband and I with our two young kids had the most relaxing and fun stay at a Dune escape in Emu Bay. The house was luxurious in it's finishes and furniture and the combustion burner was a real treat. The view from the lounge chair deck on top of the dune overlooking the Bay was a real highlight and we used it everyday with a glass of wine to watch the sunset and the kids run around below us. It's so peaceful being just that wee bit away from the bulk of the accommodation in Emu Bay to give a real sense of isolation and peacefulness. The little wallaby prints on our steps in the mornings were really cute! Brian was a great host and very friendly. Very special place indeed!

This bright airy house suited our young family perfectly. Quiet and peaceful in a great location, we went on adventures during the days and loved returning to the house to unwind. Fantastic sunny deck too...

I can't recommend this place more highly. The house was nestled behind a cliff-face looking out over the sea, protecting us from the elements (we went in winter). It's a 2 minute walk down the cliff to what feels like a private beach, no-one around. The country surrounding the house is breathtaking. The house is perfect size for a family. It was incredibly clean and had everything we needed. It's a 15 minute drive from Kingscote. We didn't feel the need to go out all the time because the house was so cosy, the fireplace kept it very warm. Brian and Kris were incredibly helpful and always accessible over email with advice for our trip.
Best place for a relaxing holiday to unwind.
