Had a cute little cabin that had everything we needed and plenty of space. Close to bus stop, supermarkets and cafes and great little Saturday market. There are several wineries quite close by, kids loved the trampoline too. Only suggestion would be to put a fan in the room in the summer, but I believe we stayed during New Zealands hottest days ever recorded, so maybe usually the extreme heat isn’t usually a big issue!

Felt more like a camping ground cabin than a motel unit. Bulbs missing from lights. Needs TLC. High Season rate per night was ridiculous for the room. 4 nights and towels changed only once. Room did not match photos. Lots of mozzies at this time of the year.

Great stay for two nights here. 7 of us in a two level, self contained unit. Heaps of beds and room. Lovely outlook, close to Ostend shops. Owners are lovely, friendly, couldn’t do enough for us. They supplied Christmas lunch to a family, who through a bit of bad luck, didn’t make it to shops in time to buy food for Christmas Day. Typical old school motel. Has a pool and spa but we spent our time at the beach. Top little spot!

We stayed at the Waiheke Island Motel for one night the week before Xmas. It is centrally located at Ostend on the Local and Hop On Hop Off bus Route. We had the 2 bedroom unit and were pleasantly surprised to have a sea view. The Motel also have a VW convertible that they hire out for the day. This was a great option for us as it enabled us to pack a picnic lunch (from the local Countdown) and drive down to Palm Beach for a swim! We then headed off to Man O War Vineyard, which is a must. The following day we walked down to the bus stop for our full day out. Christina at the motel was kind enough to look after our bags for the day.
