Both the service and food were wxcellent..We stopped in for lunch and enjoyed all the natural light coming in from the big windows. Lots of tables and booths in a casual atmosphere with plenty of parking. Lots of choices on the menu. Soup, salad, all kinds of sandwiches, wraps, pasta, chicken, breakfast all day, etc. We ordered the Sunrise Croissant which came with a bowl of soup. My wife got the chicken noodle while I got the navy bean. The chicken noodle was homemade with shell pasta. Mine was tomato based with some vegetables. Both were excellent. The Sunrise Croissant is a grilled chicken breast with 2 slices of bacon and Swiss cheese on a large croissant It came with pickles, coleslaw and a mayo based sauce on the side. It was a large sandwich. It was very good. Did not have room for dessert, but had them box up two pieces of pie to go. Silk pie and coconut cream pie were both good.

We ate here for breakfast on Sunday. Our waitress was very good and coffee cups were kept filled. Unfortunately the food was not as good. My husbands eggs, sausage, and hash browns were cold. My eggs were cool on the edges and the rest room temp. The most unappetizing part of the experience was a woman who sat at a table by the entrance. She quickly guzzled a glass of wine and then proceeded to do the same with a bottle of beer, opening her mouth wide and burping in between gulps! When she finished, she got up, waved to someone behind the counter, and left. This was at 9am. I checked later and Tremont has an ordinance prohibiting serving alcohol on Sunday til noon? Not what I consider a family friendly environment. I just hope she wasn't driving.....

Jack's is a popular gathering spot. It is family and group friendly. The restaurant is located in a bit of an unlikely spot, but is worth keeping the extra effort of locating it (The back of the restaurant can be seen off of Route 9 in Tremont off of Baer Road) It is just off of Illinois Route 155, East of exit 25.
They do have wine and beer to go along with excellent food. The waitstaff is friendly and efficient.

Stopped for coffee and dessert in the middle of the afternoon. The pie was very good and coffee was hot. It was not busy as it was not meal time but they offer specials. We will be back to try a special soon. This is a new restaurant in town.
