Me and my boys had a very pleasant stay here. We were glad to find that the pictures didn't do this place the justice. The view was lovely... My boys loved the beach (Mostly pebble)that was only on the doorstep. Such a relaxing place yet Lots to do around the area.
The position on the beach was great (birds and sunsets) but what should have been a lovely view (the main selling point) was completely marred by a vehicle, assumed abandoned by the owners, at the top of the beach. I felt very cheated by that. The interior was well stocked, clean and bright, the living area larger than expected but at the expense of the 2 bedrooms which are very small, especially the main bedroom. It was so hot that week it was impossible to both sleep in there comfortably & you couldn't leave the window open due to the noise from the very busy road (isn't it 30mph!). The cafe at Walden's is lovely but limited opening so need a car for eating out. A pleasant but long walk into Whitstable along beach. It could be almost perfect with a few changes.

We stayed at Mermaids Cave for two nights but really would have loved to have stayed longer. The bungalow is impeccably clean, stylishly decorated in a seaside theme and had everything you could have possibly wanted. It overlooks the beach which although not the prettiest still made it a lovely location. Very private with a lovely decked area to relax on. Although we didn't have the best weather I can imagine that if you had the best of the summer there's probably no place I would rather have been. The bungalow felt so homely, I will definitely be back.
